I read an article, entitled “A quality education is the key to success for preschool” from” The Times”, which is a local newspaper in northwest Indiana. The owner and director, Jan Levy, sets high standards in providing quality child care and preschool education in I think it’s a wonderful curriculum because they use all the good virtues in life to succeed. It’s really important to have a good education for kids to learn from the preschool or kindergarten. It’s really important to educate children to know how to get along well with people. Both schooling and parents are important and responsible. Which courses should be required for high school students? According to Dewey’s fourfold developmental learning activities, the curriculum could include social activity, constructive activities, expressive-artistic activity, and investigative activity. In addition, we have to add one more physical activity in the curriculum. Those high school students can have entire good organized courses. Indeed, I think that moral education is very important for students, from children to teenagers. Teachers can’t do moral education beyond intelligence. For example, some Asian countries have stressful courses schedules for high school students to do for all kinds of written tests. However, the curriculum ignores moral education for youth. Students may just know how to take exams while don’t know anything about the real life and society, which would cause some crimes for kids. Dewey also pointed out that if the school have development knowledge acquisition and have powered educate effectively in social life, it would be moral education. Both knowledge and virtues are important in curriculum from preschool to high school.
