H: As you can see from what's written, there are several things you need to work on. This includes contacting clients more often.
J: I do make regular sales calls, but it's sometimes really difficult to close deals.
H: Compared to the other reps in the department, you tend to make fewer sales calls. You have also consistently failed to meet your monthly sales goals.
J: Are you saying I shouldn't be in sales?
H: Not at all. What I mean is that you need to put more effort into what you do. That means making more sales calls.
J: I've got tough customers that are hard to sell to.
H: Being in sales isn't easy, Julia. I think you would benefit from attending an advanced sales seminar.
J: OK. If you think I need it, I'd be happy to go.
