Hank is now talking to another employee, Julia Wilson, about her job performance review.
H: Julia, I’m not going to waste your time, so I’m just going to cut to the chase. I believe you’ve seen your review.
J: Yes, I looked it over yesterday and again this morning.
H: I’m sad to say that your performance hasn’t met our expectations.
J: I can see that. I didn’t think I was doing so poorly, though.
H: I know it’s tough to receive criticism, but you should look at this as a chance to get valuable feedback.
J: I guess so. You made a lot of comments about my work.
H: That’s true. I tried to be as specific as possible. That way, I could point out the exact areas you need to improve. [C] The novel was rated a brilliant performance.
