According the order of the billboard , the books teach us to become richer or successful are always have number one sales volume . On the other hand , the romantic stories always come up on top. In my opinion  Taiwanese people chest money and feel that the life is empty.

What marketing strategies would motivate people to consume   ?

I think discount is the best method. Take me for instance  , I always buy something when they have  sales promotion . In addition I always take care the discount information , while  I find the goods I want which have lower price , even I have to buy more than I need , I always buy them . For example , not long ago , the convenience shop promoted  the ice cream , we can buy one and get free one , but the condition is you have to pay  the bills on there , I pay all bills of the members in my home . To be frank , I pay more then I just buy the ice cream , but I always cannot reject this temptation. On the other hand , to invite some celebrities endorse the goods is a good method too . Furthermore , the good spokesmen can stimulate buying and create princely benefit . A case in point is , A-may recommend Taiwanese beer last year , and the sales volume increased significantly by 30% . Well, not long ago, the government provide the consumer vouchers , although the face value is just NT 3,600, but it can motive the buying.

Has technology changed the way people buy things   ?

Yes. E-shopping is the current  trendy. Most  manufactures and shops have to put their merchandises on the web-site, even we cannot buy the goods from the Internet directly , al least , they provide the products information and contact method to us , otherwise , just their regular customers know what they sell , they cannot let customers know them and buy the goods form them. More importantly , they cannot extend their marketing to the worldwide , because you have to spend princely money to sell your products if you don’t sell them through the Internet.

What do you think of the current economic condition of Taiwan  ?

As you know , now , it is a very serious depression in the world , not just in here . In fact , I heard Taiwan is better than many other areas . Actually , we know in the future , the Eastern Asia especially the Chinese areas are the economic key positions in the world, Taiwan is one member of these area , so we just can pass this depression , we can see the booming coming ASAP.

What impact do you think when Taiwan become a member of WTO  ?

If Taiwan is the member of WTO, we cannot reject others members sell their products to here , the government cannot protect the local industries like now .  For customers , it is a good news . We can choose much more than these goods exist current markets But for the manufactures , they have to face the more huge competition from the other countries . For example , we can see the first one which encounter this impaction is our farm products , over the past , if the supply exceeds  the demand , our government always purchase to keep the benefit of these farmers, and levy the tax from the import productions. But it is impossible is we become the member of WTO. On the other hand , our products have to do some  research to improve their quality and less the cost, they have the competition in the markets, it is perhaps a good thing.
