How do you characterize the architectural styles of the building in this country ?

The Styles are very chaos . We can say , there are no plan when they built these buildings. When we stroll on the streets , we can see at least 3 kinds on the same street,. For example , the road I walk form bus station to my home , I can see the temple which is traditional Taiwan style , which next door is a 5-storey building . When you see the opposite of this building , you can see a KTV, which is an Europe styles . At the end of this road , is a large residential area , which are composed by 12 buildings, all of them are 12 floor high and I live in 11^th floor, and they are built by reinforced concrete .

Do you think the skyline of this city has changed?

Sure. I remember about 30 years ago, The building are almost five-storey, and then , the government build the resident area , most of them are 12 floor high. 15 years ago, the first skyscraper stood at the front of Taipei rail station . Now , we can see the skyscrapers every where in Taiwan .

What do you think of the change?

As I think it is inevitable , I think . Taiwan is very small , so we have to save to use the land, so we have to build the high buildings because an inch of land is an inch of gold. On the other hand , here is more richer than before, the skyscrapers respect this city is a modern society . Then again , the construction companies wish their buildings can become the landmark , so they have to overcome these ones before these , whatever the height or the appearance .

Are the different from the dominant types of building you see in the countryside?

Yes , we can distinguish where is city and where is countryside . If you arrive these cities , we can see many mansions even skyscrapers , and the style of buildings are very chaos . But when you go to the countryside , the most of building are  detached houses and bungalows . Well , we can see some houses look like villa , which are not as same as the traditional village, it is so interesting.

In what directions do you expect this city to develop?

As a resident , I hope we can live in a more convenient city.  For example , we always see the cars and motorcycles occur the road even the sidewalk , we always feel very dangerous when we stroll in here . Second , I hope the masters of the pets especially the dogs can take care the stools . Last but not least , I hope we can have more outdoors of concerts , we can live in a vivid environment.
