The religion I’d like to talk about is Taoism. It is a very special one for us , not only it originates from Chinese but also it is the spiritual support for them . I believe ,ore than a half Taiwanese people believe and adore it.. More importantly , it help many hopeless people ride out the storm .In particular ,It’s rudiment is multi-god. Furthermore , the gods are immortal persons , all of them have their personality . Indeed , the heaven is like our imperial court, it is composited by the Jade Emperor who like the monarch and other gods, who like the ministers . In addition , all of us can become gods if we do the great things , for example , if you sacrifice your life to save other people, you might have chance to become the god . Some people may build temple to remember and divide you. Last but not least I want to say is the ceremonies . The Taoists believe the transmigration , so they put much attention to do some ceremonies . Maybe we think it's very ridiculous , but Iwe have to respect their belief. How is Taoism different from Buddhism? There are many difference between but they are almost compatible. We can see some gods of Buddhism who are set on the Taoism's temples. There are just little difference between them . First , the origin . Taoism is built by Chinese but Buddhism come from What do you think is the significance of religion? As you know , if the guy who has belief , he/she has courage and power to do anything and face the dilemma. Second, most religion teach us to be a benign guy , they persuade us don’t do bad things and become a accommodative person ,some of them tell us the result whatever you do anything. They help many evil men to change their bad behavior and turn up and improve the life of many poor men. It is very important in human societies What kind of cultural impact? We can see the religions impact all regions in the world . On the other hand , we can say , no area has no been influenced . You see , despite Western or Eastern , no matter music, sculpture , fresco , poetry even architecture , we can see the shade of religion . We can say , the religions are the essence in the cultural history of mankind. The most familiar example are the fairy stories in all part of the world, most of them describe the humans’ historic things. Religion is a constraint ? Yes and no. I think the essence of religion is not constraint . Maybe their doctrines have little rules to ask fellows to follow, they think they are bindles . On the other hand, some people especially who want to govern people , they borrow the name of religion to ask others to obey , this constraint is not religious itself, I think so. Do you feel uneasy with people with a different faith? No. In fact , I am a polytheist . I don’t reject any religion . But I don’t like some guy enforce me to believe his/her belief . For example, I like to read bible and listen the hymns , but I don’t like go to churches because some guys always ask me to say or do something . On the other hand , I like to go to temple because no one argue you , you can stay there to enjoy the atmosphere . Christianity impact this society ? As Yes. You can see so many hospitals and schools which built by the Christians , especially the remote , backyard place. I read a news report recently, it described the doctor who took care the dark-foot patients and no charge , he because the God’s decree and he affected the president at that time to build the special hospital , it is just one example of the great deeds of them. mdified on 6/5
