Yangmingshan Qixing Park

(陽明山七星公園)

Yangmongshan National Park is famous for its cherry blossoms, hot spring, sulfur deposits and hiking trails including Taipei area. Today I

want to introduce Qixing Park.

How get to Qixing Park?

Take bus small no.15 on SHI-LI MRT Station, get off on Lengshuikeng Visitor Center, there has trails that you can go hiking to Qixing Park.

                                Lenshuikeng Vistor Center

A hot spring is any natural spring of water at a temperature 6.5°C above the local mean temperature. The yearly mean temperature in Yangmingshan is 18-21°C, therefore any spring with a temperature above 30°C would be defined as a hot spring. The Lengshuikeng spring is a little above 40°C, which is much cooler than the other 80-90°C thermal spring in the park. The cooler water temperature resulted in its name “Lengshuikeng” which translates as “cold water pit”

Viewing from Qixing Park, towards the front are Shamao mountain(紗帽山). Guanyin mountain(觀音山). Tamsui River(淡水河) and Keelung River(基隆河) .

"Tea Service" has been lasting for 23 years at Qixing Park

Do not feed wild animals

When you feed native animals, you are giving them the wildlife equivalent of junk foods instead of a wild range of natural foods. They depend on processed seeds, bread and other foods that are not part of their natural diet. This can make them very sick. They may also lose their ability to forage for natural foods. In addition, too much squirrels may injure tree’s ecology.

Yangmingshan National Park has its special performs each season of the year, and if you are one who can appreciate it, these performs will put on a different show for you in every season. You could visit a dozen times, it won’t cost you anything. Admission is free charge.  Enjoy the beautiful scene, fresh air, and a rich variety of plant.
