日本首相與奧巴馬會見發生的故事

The instructor told Mori Prime Minister, when you shake hand with President Obama, please say " how r u ".   Then Mr. Obama should say, " I am fine, and you? " Now, you should say " me too ".  Afterwards we, translators, will do the work for you." 翻譯官告訴麻生太郎，當你與歐巴馬總統握手時，請說「你好嗎」,然後歐巴馬會回答您「我很好，你呢?」這時您必須回答「我也是」，接下來就交給我們為您做翻譯的工作

It looks quite simple, but the truth is...
看起來相當簡單,但實際情況卻是…

When Mori met Obama , he mistakenly said " who r u? " (Instead of "How r u?".) "當麻生太郎會見歐巴馬時，他卻誤說成「你是誰?」(原本應該是"你好嗎")

Mr. Obama was a bit shocked but still managed to react with humor: " Well, I'm Michelle's husband, ha-ha... 歐巴馬總統有點驚訝，但仍然設法用幽默來回應︰「我是蜜雪兒的老公，哈哈….」

Then Mori replied " me too, ha-ha.. .". 然後麻生太郎說「我也是，哈哈....」

Then there was a long silence in the meeting room…

接下來會議室裡沈默了很長一段時間...
