(Milan, Italy, Feb 22) Eileen Gu successfully defended her title in the women’s freestyle skiing halfpipe on Sunday, securing China’s fifth gold medal at the 2026 Milan Winter Olympics.
On the final day of competition, Gu delivered a stunning third run score of 94.75 points in the women’s halfpipe final to claim gold. She became the first athlete in history to win back-to-back.

Another Chinese athlete, Li Fanghui, took the silver medal with a score of 93.00 points and bronze GBs Zoe Atkin score of 92.50.
With her results at this Winter Olympics — one gold and two silver medals — Gu has now accumulated a total of six Olympic medals (three gold and three silver). She further extends her record as the most decorated female freestyle skier in Winter Olympic history.
This gold medal also marks China’s fifth at the Milan Games, matching the country’s best-ever overseas Winter Olympic gold tally. China’s total medal count of 5 gold, 4 silver, and 6 bronze medals sets a new overseas record.
