     The Ocean    Lu Jiao

The ocean adopts

All the wandering rivers and brooks

With her benevolent bosom

And once more he appoints the salt to be a special envoy

To go to the world

To save universally all the beings

With his whole life

(Chinese Modern Poetry Quarterly of No. 1)

Translated by Hsu ChiCheng

Standing Posture of the Tree    Lin HuanChan

The virtue of the tree, lies in

Her used to silence; no need to rattle and prattle

It’s the garrulous wind, which like to sow dissension through gossip!

If possible, it is better not to talk ,

Just standing silently; to face the world

With this standing posture.

(Chinese Modern Poetry Quarterly of No.1)

Translated by Hsu ChiCheng

Spring’s Words    Cheng YaWen

The white clouds rest on the mountains which dotted faraway place

The breeze blows the flowers by the stream into wrinkles

The noises of the city stop here

The burden of the years unloads slightly

The trees are verdant

Painting the appearance of the earth with a clear outline

The sweet words of the flowers

Relate the rivers and mountains which are picturesque for people

Originate from the push of the earth

The new sprouts spring up

Originate from the nurture of the nature

The new hopes bloom into flowers

The flowers and stamen postures in eyes

Half float in the wind

Half sink into the heart

The sky and the heaven

Are still far endless and boundless

The landscape of gorgeous spectacle

The atmosphere of great vitality

Will plant boundless greenery throughout the world

(Chinese Modern Poetry quarterly of No.1)

Translated by Hsu ChiCheng

     Star and Moon    Mo YiBo

In the tranquil night azure

The sky like a wide bed

Where lay the mother and the son

On the warm bed

The mother is tired from her working all the day long

Who holds her son to her breast for his dreamland

The child gazes fixedly at his kind mother

With his profound eyes

Oh, Ma,

In the night rolling with clouds

You are a bright and clear moon

I am a glittering firefly

(Chinese Mordern poetry Quarterly of No.1)

Translated by Hsu ChiCheng
