On Branches of the Flame-Tree Hsu ChiCheng

It is just summer time
The scorching sun is wielding its great power
Stretching its hands toward all corners in the south
Finally to enkindle red fire
On branches of the flame-tree
The red fire is burning fierce and wild
And the fiery phoenix is bathed in the fire

Yes. It is the fiery phoenix
They are bathing in groups
On branches of the flame-tree
From branch to branch
They are hopping and skipping
Spreading the wings for a short-distance flight
With body and mind to roll and welter

They are going to wash off mortal dust
So as to gain renascence?
Can they stand the fire?
Can they stand the hammering?
Yes. Thus is steel tempered.
After renascence, they must be

       鳳凰木枝頭    許其正

正是夏日時候

炎炎熱火揮發巨力

把手伸向南方各個角落

終於在鳳凰木枝頭

點燃起紅火

紅火熊熊而燃

火鳳凰便浴在火中

沒錯。那是火鳳凰

牠們成群浴於

鳳凰木枝頭

從這枝到那枝

牠們不停地小碎步跳躍

展翅短暫小飛

傾全身心力翻滾

牠們要洗去塵俗

獲得重生嗎？

牠們耐得住火

經得起錘鍊嗎？

是的。鋼就是這樣煉成的。

重生後，牠們必是

一首首旺燃的詩
