have been to & have gone to
表示「曾經去過」的經驗時,要用Have (has) been to而不是 Have (has) gone to
但是在「一本專門為中國人寫的文法書」,例題卻寫道:
我來以前,曾去過教堂。
I had gone to church before coming here.
此處為什麼不用had been to?

go to church 去望彌撒; 去作禮拜
go to the church 去教堂(這個地點)
go to school 上學; 就讀
go to the school 去學校(這個地點)
go to bed 就寢; 去睡覺
go to the bed 去床那邊
至此你一定知道那句的意義了吧?
I had gone to church before coming here.
我來這兒之前去作過禮拜了.
I had been to the church before coming here.
我來這兒以前,曾去過教堂。
至於下列二者的分別:
He has gone to Hong Kong. 他到香港去了(人在香港)
He has been to Hong Kong. 他去過香港(人不在香港)
