This story is about a boy who loves to sing, but struggles to become the ideal street musician. Because of his mother has passed away he has returned back to his hometown, and there is a girl who sells flowers at the street corner. She hears the boy singing, to express her appreciation and delight she gives him ten cents. The two start talking starting with the boy complaining that his song is only worth ten cents...

In this film, it takes place in Dublin , the leading actor is a street musician and the leading actress is a Czech immigrant, the music brings them together at the street corner. This is a simple romantic musical with a intense plot that didn't have an perfect ending where the prince gets the princess and because it isn't perfect it creates real emotion.  Through out the movie both the actor and actress remain nameless, through out the movie they have symmetrical dialog.  In the movie, they are trying to answer the question "How often do you find the right person?" What would you do if you met the person at the incorrect time?

"Once" has won the 80th annual Oscars for Best Original Song.  The leading actor is Glen Hasard is the lead singer for the Irish band the The Frames, the leading actress is Marketa Irglova who is also a Czech singer, in the movie they use music to let each closer to each other's soul. Through their singing and songs it is obviously that the songs were about the lost of love ones, the lonely and the helpless express their state of mind.  Though the movie has a simple plot, for the people living in a foreign place, the music in movie touches the heart due to the similarities of their world...at least that I have entered that world with them...
