| Hi, NiuNiu You really enjoy with Lene's families last night, right? We did have good time. Peter wonder if his daughters would have Austria accent after living there for three years. He asked me if I feel that you and me are different. I told him that you got the Canadian part what I like, so I accept it. Not only for the reason of immigration, I think every individual is different. You don't feel any difficult to talk with anyone who has accent, right? Richard speaks English still keeps his French accent; even your teachers, lots of different accent from Quebec, Montreal, and France. My little Taiwan keeps more different accents, I think. I remember that I had a teacher who was from Mainland China, he was so old, and kept his strong accent. I felt so strange why my classmates could hardly understand what he said. It is so easy for me to understand, and I knew he was a very great teacher, he was on time always, and explained in details. Unfortunately, few people paid their patient for such good old teacher. I still remember his name, and his imagine. Accent is only a little imperfect part for a person, why we care about it so much? Is it important? Of course, you are raising in Canada, you can have your own "home accent", nobody has excuse to laugh each other. I feel very sorry is, most of Chinese will ask me, "what? what are you talking about? ...I don't understand what do you mean?..." Or put the question mark on their faces to me. Most of Canadian understand what I said to them. It is so obvious that not the accent makes me different but the attitude from our own people from oriental, even the same country makes me very uncomfortable. I hope you recognize what is more important for you to know a person. Almost our friends are PHD or doctors, most of them are so modest , so smart, and so capable in their life. These people won't laugh at my accent, but very love to know my opinion, and to listen about my culture and my country. I respect them, too. Friendship can be build in so simple way though we are so different from each other, and come from the different world. I hope you can enjoy all friends from all over the world, that will be very interesting for your life. Love~ mom |
