on 10/14/2026 (about 5:xx am showed 6 min. would auto restart), so i immediatedly saved those opened *.txt files.

in windows update , updated history shows: (10/14/2026)

quality updates : KB5127690 , KB5127648  then KB5129195 on 9/19/2026

driver updates : Lenovo system Driver Update 26.8.0.29 then 26.7.0.7 on 9/19/2026

Definition updates : didnt, it was on 10/12/2026 KB2267602 version 1.459.691.0

other updates : KB890830 v5.146 then v5.145 on 9/19/2026

due to cursor cant move became worst cant but re-open task manager to get cursor back but more frequently lose the control so google serached :

[does 26H2 is better than 25H2, does many users still are 25H2 not update to 26H2 ?] ps i thought maybe 26H2 would be better, considering update to 26H2

Windows 11 version 26H2 is not fundamentally "better" or faster than version 25H2, and many users remain on version 25H2 because the rollout is phased and the update is largely a minor enablement package ....

Are Many Users Still on 25H2?
  • Phased Rollout: Microsoft released version 26H2 (the Windows 11 2026 Update) in late September 2026, and the rollout is intentionally phased out gradually over several months...
  • Compatibility Holds: Microsoft applies temporary compatibility holds to specific hardware configurations if known bugs are present, keeping those users on 25H2 until fixes are ready.
  • User Sentiment: Because 26H2 offers little difference in daily performance, many users and IT administrators see no urgent rush to jump right away, especially since 25H2 continues to receive full security support....

Are you currently experiencing an issue on Windows 11 25H2 that you hope 26H2 will fix, or are you trying to decide whether to manually force the upgrade?

[yes, 25H2 cant control cursor that must thru task manager to get cursor back frequently]

Microsoft actually officially acknowledged and fixed a widespread bug exactly like this. [1]

1. The Permanent Fix: Update Windows
Microsoft resolved this specific input-stack bug in the October 13, 2026 update (KB5127648). Installing this update will permanently repair the issue....
[minutes ago just windows updated can see KB5127690(10/14/2026) and KB5126052(09/19/2026) but didnt find KB5127648, remember several days ago suddenly in update history already installed updates auto disappeared. any related my pc didnt insatll OneDrive and cloud usagage 0% so MS auto uninstalled them ?]
No, Microsoft did not uninstall your updates because of OneDrive or 0% cloud usage.

Windows Update operates completely independently of your OneDrive storage and cloud configuration.
1. Why you see KB5127690 instead of KB5127648
You dont see KB5127648 because KB5127690 is newer and replaced it.
Windows updates are cumulative. Your computer installed KB5127690 on October 14, 2026. Because this patch includes all fixes from the October 13 patch (KB5127648), Windows skipped the older package entirely. Your mouse cursor issue should already be permanently fixed by this new update! [1, 2]
--isnt it very witch-type that didnt auto updated in my pc on 10/13 but the newest version on 10/14? in my windows update always set : [get the latest updates as soon as possible] OFF  in the past can select 1 week, 2 weeks, ... but now it became [pick a date] , did last time i select 10/14 the very bad date so the newest version auto installed in stead give a chance to select a later days (usually i would select 3 weeks later) ?

2. Why did your update history "auto-disappear" several days ago?
When your update history suddenly clears out, it is usually triggered by one of three common system maintenance events:
  • The Servicing Stack Cleaned Itself: If Windows detects corruption in its update database or prepares for a major cumulative rollout, it will automatically flush the software distribution cache. This clears the visual list of your history, but it does not actually uninstall the updates from your system. [1, 2]  PS that means MS didnt auto unistalled those updated but users cant see the past windows updated listing as some are hided. the day found many auto disappeared i did check spouse pc he still has completely listing, i would check his pc again.
  • Corrupted Windows Update Components: If your Windows Update agent encounters a glitch, it will silently reset its database components, making the history page appear completely blank. [1, 2] PS not completely blank such as in quality updates showed as 12/23/2025, 12/26/2025, 1/13/2026, 1/25, 1/30, 2/1, 2/11, 3/10, 4/16, 5/14, 6/9, 7/21, 8/2, 9/1, 9/19, 10/14  just wonder am i better than those users got completely blank ? but worse than spouse that didnt hear his cursor daily frequently cant move?
  • Storage Sense Maintenance: If your local hard drive runs low on space, Windows Storage Sense can automatically delete old Windows Update log files to free up space, wiping the visual history. [1]  ps HD still has plenty available space, it shows :135.75GB/474.72GB 29% free
[it is 26200.9711, but after restart pc and visited news website, baidu searched, cursor auto pointed at the 2nd tab(can see arrow) then wont move i did 2 times task manager to move the cursor so can wrote in my blog and google searched for answear]
....Because the mouse still froze specifically when you hovered over browser tabs while browsing a news site and searching on Baidu, this means you are dealing with a Browser Hardware Acceleration deadlock. In Windows 11, the Desktop Window Manager (DWM) can clash with Chromium-based browsers (like Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, or Baidu Browser) when rendering heavy elements, causing the cursor to visually lock to a tab until Task Manager resets the window focus.  PS the baidu i only serached [forbid] as this year frequently misspelled, mistyped happening that i wrote in my udn blog as forbide (i knew it is incorrectly just to make sure so serahced baidu) , i did correct and updated in my article :

[特朗普称乌克兰需要新的领导人, the next which master would say to the Israle butcher that should say years ago., same as to our the rotten bastards that no desire mention his name. ] ...
10/14/2026 after waked up the screen showed PC restart in 6 min. so i immediately saved opened *.txt files and restart found the cursor became worse must frequently re-open task manager to get cursor control back but very soon cant control cursor any time.

10/17/2026 searched [why firefox browser suddenly cursor still auto switch to another tab after set browser.tabs.loadBookmarksInBackground True, can it cause by KB2267602 version  1.461.67.0 and 1.461.76.0 updated today ?]

--after returned from yard, the serious problem made me frequently must click the tab i was reading or writng in udn blog, just felt hacker control my pc forbid me to read sohu.com posters articles, searched and found about:config, browser.tabs.loadBookmarksInBackground was OFF so changed to [True] but didnt work. immediately verify windows settings update history the [Definition updates] today at 4:01pm updated.

Firefox auto‑switching to new tabs despite browser.tabs.loadBookmarksInBackground

Yes — recent Firefox updates (including KB2267602) can reset or override browser.tabs.loadBookmarksInBackground, so you may need to re‑enable it in about:config or adjust other related settings.

Why this happens

Firefox’s browser.tabs.loadBookmarksInBackground setting controls whether middle‑clicking or Ctrl‑clicking a bookmark opens it in a new tab in the background. However, this setting can be reset by:

  • Firefox updates — some updates (including KB2267602) may reset certain about:config preferences to defaults, or change default behavior for new tabs Mozilla Support+1.

  • Other related settings — even if loadBookmarksInBackground is true, other preferences like browser.tabs.loadDivertedInBackground or browser.search.context.loadInBackground can still cause immediate switching Mozilla Connect.

  • Add‑ons or extensions — some extensions can override tab‑opening behavior.

  • Profile corruption — if your profile is damaged, settings may revert.

How to fix it

  1. Re‑enable the setting in about:config

    • Type about:config in the address bar.

    • Search for browser.tabs.loadBookmarksInBackground and set it to true (double‑click to toggle).  PS just did a couple minutes ago

    • If it’s already true, check for other browser.tabs.load*inBackground preferences and set them to true as well Reddit.  PS showed 3, top 2 were OFF so changed to [True]

  2. Check the General settings

    • Go to Settings → General → When you open a link, image or media in a new tab, switch to it immediately and ensure it’s unchecked. PS already did, now it didnt auto switch to another tab. problem fixed. just quite exhausted by MS daily updated which always got this and that problems, the worst is cursor-related included tab aut swiched.

    • 10/18/026 it works but when clicked one of sohu.com news it stay in the current tab wont move to the new tab, it took me a quite while then realized the problem so must close many tabs (the same news). i felt it was worse than before.
  3. Test in Troubleshoot Mode

    • Start Firefox in Troubleshoot Mode (Shift + Firefox) to see if add‑ons are causing the issue. If the problem disappears, disable extensions one by one to find the culprit Mozilla Support.

  4. Clear cache and cookies

    • Clear cookies and site data, and also clear the startup cache from Help → Troubleshooting Information → Clear startup cache Mozilla Support.

  5. Update or reinstall Firefox

    • If the issue started after KB2267602, you can try rolling back to the previous version or reinstalling Firefox to see if the problem persists.

Extra tip

If you want a more consistent behavior, Mozilla’s community has suggested adding a global toggle for “open new tabs in background” to the settings UI, but for now you must manage it via about:config Mozilla Connect.

In short: The update may have reset your setting, so re‑enable browser.tabs.loadBookmarksInBackground in about:config, check related settings, and test in Troubleshoot Mode to rule out add‑on interference.

10/18/2026 searched [what is researchgate.net ? why auto popped up in firefox tabs .]

ResearchGate is the professional network for scientists and researchers. Our platform provides a global community of over 25 million …

--have no idea what ResearchGate to do with me.

10/19/2026 1:00am happened again that ResearchGate showed in manage cookies and site data even even removed still cant auto jump to another tab.

it is all about usa companies dd to users by auto pop up their adv. which so ridiculous.

now it became britannic.com searched and showed [Explore the fact-checked online encyclopedia from Encyclopaedia Britannica with hundreds of thousands of objective …] 10/19/2026 8:26 it became worse. auto popped up [choose a tab ...] such as pin tab. and made sound like [dong] and cursor wont move unless tried hard to make it go away,  however if open the normal browser it didnt have the problem.

i almost tried to update firefox but then think of what is another new weird sympton adding to so stop especially got information no need update to 26H2 as MS working on solve millions problems of 25H2. the multi tabs i can see it changed with very clearly square box for each tab, i tried to close the last tab then it auto closed the whole private browser. fortunatelt already saved what i typed. with no expection re-open private browser, so far it didnt happen yet. does it mean MS solve it? or whenever it happens just close and re-open browser ? i found out why sometimes auto re-open my data files and if i didnt save them again then they all auto disappeared, it happened when i waked up i worried they might auto embeded virus and did check file explorer it existed, so closed all popped up data files. then check them again they are all auto disappeared. and mouse disappeared too, the mouse pad no response until open the task manager. ... what a messy very badly MS design, i really dont think MS can solve it.
