4/20/2026 just found OneDrive nightmare come back, i am not the only one in usa try

very hard to blockade OneDrive, however no one can stop what masters want. and just

caught the other bug again no wonder MS never can solve data files auto disappeared

deadly bugs.

this is another reason i cant but continue repeatedly backup 360doc 文章下载 because those data files would be auto disappeared.

it just  happened after 4/19 returned home (fell slept several times) and waked up. unfortunately cant post it here (360doc) but udn my blog (going to write now...)
in the beginning i thought caused by sharing related so searched:

[when i right click the file folder and property , sharing which showed network path not

shared, but click the file folder in the file explorer still shows shared ?]  ... and then

found the real serious problem from [c:\users\username\documents ] suddenly became [c:\users\username\onedrive\documents]
immediately searched [why my whole document in c:\users\username\onedrive\documents, that i didnt use onedrive?]...that can explained

why frequently 360 backup [category] data files auto disappeared... including i made

each file folder contains file names listing... just felt got  [网络爬虫在疯狂爬取文章 in my HD too]

--why i am so against it ? did you see master ever be responsible for what he did wrong things (such as his wars, let the bucher maliciously invade other pity countries lands and brutely killing their people and kids as ) ? that is exactly same as usa companies no appology, no confess not even can recover missing files. why would users as me-type very care about data files would want to be abused white mice forever ?

the following are my searched as :

[no matter whether disable one drive or not, the blue OneDrive cloud icon already embded even didnt show in task bar nor in system tray ?]

How to Ensure OneDrive is Completely Off
  1. Task Manager: Open Task Manager (Ctrl + Shift + Esc), go to the "Startup" tab, and set OneDrive to "Disabled".  PS didnt install OneDrive after bought notebook in 2024
  2. Unlink/Uninstall: In OneDrive Settings, go to the Account tab and choose "Unlink this PC," or uninstall OneDrive in Settings > Apps.   PS N /A as above
  3. Check Registry: Ensure it is not in the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run registry key.  PS didnt show OneDrive by [windows search regedit and click open]
If the icon remains on files after these steps, it is likely a file association holdover that requires a system restart.

-- the blue OneDrive cloud icon not in task bar nor hide in system tray.

[in my taskbar didnt see blue cloud logo as already disabled in 2024, how i stop sync with cloud or onedrive?]

[dont have onedrive icon in system tray]

[if cloud usage shows 0.1%, how MS thru onedrive sync with cloud?]

--this is the key problem, by default which SYNC which ? the badly SYNC problem caused new created or modified data files(backup from 360doc) all auto disappeared except the file folder put in c:\ not malicious under c:\users\OneDrive control are survived others put in c:\users\username\document became c:\users\OneDrive\username\documents were auto wipped off by SYNC  the question is less than 0.1GB Cloud what are those file folders and how many files in each folder, when was last time updated or never ?

the worst bug happened today(4/20/2026) is pinned documents(file folder) auto replaced by c:\file folder ps both same name but different path. what kind bug it is, can replaced already pinned?

no wonder in the past thought file explorer got different versions, in reality caused by auto swiched pinned file folder.

just felt bugs in every where and never can be solved.

You really cant stop Windows from creating the OneDrive folder. However, you can prevent your folders from backing up to that folder. To do that, go to Manage Backup in the OneDrive settings, and turn off the backup of the folders you see there.

See this video: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/back-up-your-folders-with-onedrive-d61a7930-a6fb-4b95-b28a-6552e77c3057

But if you dont have OneDrive installed, you wont be able to do that.

--obviously, it didnt work for me as didnt install OneDrive right in the beginning.

To stop File Explorer from creating a OneDrive user folder, you may need to ensure that OneDrive is completely uninstalled and that any related settings are disabled. Here are some steps you can follow:

  1. Uninstall OneDrive: Make sure OneDrive is uninstalled from your system. You can do this by going to Settings > Apps > Apps & features, finding OneDrive, and selecting Uninstall.
  2. Remove OneDrive from Startup: Check if OneDrive is set to start automatically. You can disable it by right-clicking the taskbar, selecting Task Manager, going to the Startup tab, and disabling OneDrive if it appears there.
  3. Delete OneDrive Folder: After uninstalling, manually delete the OneDrive folder from your user directory if it still exists. You can find it under C:\Users\[YourUsername]\OneDrive. PS not until 100% sure, dont delete, i did copy to usb(4.0GB) which got troubble as heard the sound but didnt show in file explorer. didnt follow suggestion to re-format but 1. windows search typed device manager, open , searched device drives which  showed --U.R; searched [what is Disk drive [--U.R] ? ] N/A  2. disabled bluetrooth that recently when insert  2 of 5 usb auto popped window to enable bluetrooth.  3. unplug USB then plug in, the Disk drive [--U.R] auto disappeared  and correctly usb drive showed up which shows healthy                                     however another Ultra 2GB  no problem as company provided driver but 2GB same company made Micro Center driver came from MS very likely did something wrong got error code 43
  4. Registry Edit: If the folder keeps reappearing, you may need to check the registry settings. Open the Registry Editor by typing regedit in the Start menu. Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\OneDrive and delete the OneDrive key if it exists. Be careful when editing the registry; it’s advisable to back it up first.
  5. Check Group Policy: If you are using Windows Pro, you can check the Group Policy settings. Press Win + R, type gpedit.msc, and navigate to Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > OneDrive. Ensure that any policies related to OneDrive are set to Not Configured or Disabled.
  6. -- not applied as home version (not pro version)..
  7. Restart Your Computer: After making these changes, restart your computer to see if the OneDrive folder still appears.
  8. If you continue to experience issues, it might be worth checking for any system updates or considering a fresh installation of Windows if the problem persists.

[does 4/15/2026 MS disallowed 2GB usb such as Micro Center ?]
Based on available information for early 2026, there is no evidence that Microsoft has "disallowed" 2GB USB drives, such as those from Micro Center, by April 15, 2026.

[where can i find usb.inf in my pc path ? ] You can typically find usb.inf and related driver files in the Primary Locations

  • C:\Windows\inf: This is the standard directory where Windows stores INF files for installed devices. PS usb.inf date modified 2/25/2026 1:10Am 4.52KB
  • [ usb.inf date modified 2/25/2026, does it cause 2GB usb got error code 43?] Yes, a modified usb.inf file, or a corrupted driver installation associated with it, can cause a 2GB USB drive to throw a USB Error Code 43 ("Windows has stopped this device...").                   Conflict with USB Hubs: Often, usb.inf and usbport.inf conflicts can occur after system updates, leading to faulty driver copies.
  •
[how can i get usb.inf previous version (before modified date on 2/25/2026)?]
Check the Windows Component Store (WinSxS)
Windows often keeps older versions of driver files in the WinSxS (Side-by-Side) directory.
  • Search for usb.inf within C:\Windows\WinSxS.

Device settings for USB\VID_0000&PID_0002\5&9de3e9a&0&1 were migrated from previous OS installation.

  • You may find multiple subfolders containing different versions of the file. Look for one with a timestamp or modified date prior to February 25, 2026.

3. Replace via Trusted Source
If the file is corrupted, you can download a clean version from a repository or extract it from your Windows installation media (ISO/USB).
  • Warning: Be cautious when downloading .inf files from third-party sites. Ensure they match your exact Windows Build (e.g., 22H2 Build 19045.6937) to avoid system instability.            PS just got called from the store and would give us a free USB one time benefit before 4/30/2026 even i told him the device might be expired..... hoping the driver not from Windows or endless problems happen to we as 60, 79 old cant endure updating torture forever.
Sorry didnt finish how to solve it as too complex and no confidence can restore succeefully but cause another Ultra 2GB USB problem.
