| Microsoft Issues New Upgrade Warning For 70% Of All Windows Users

Unsurprisingly, with little more than a year to run before Windows 10’s unpopular end-of-life becomes reality, speculation continues to mount as to whether Microsoft will relent and extend support or remove the hardware hurdles preventing millions from upgrading. But here’s the bad news if you have such hopes—Microsoft has just issued a little-noticed, dressed-up warning for the 70% yet to upgrade. This comes by way of an innocuous post from Microsoft’s Digital Inside Track blog, “which tells the story of how Microsoft uses its own technology.” This particular post trumpets Microsoft’s own upgrade to Windows 11, which “makes secure-by-default viable thanks to a combination of modern hardware and software. Windows 11 is redesigned for hybrid work and security with built-in hardware-based isolation, proven encryption, and our strongest protection against malware.” If there was any doubt that this is an unapologetic trumpeting of the new hardware hurdle, the post’s headline alone should be confirmation enough: “Hardware-backed Windows 11 empowers Microsoft with secure-by-default baseline,” with the article reinforcing that “this new baseline for protection is one of several reasons Microsoft upgraded to Windows 11… The new hardware-backed security features create the foundation for new protections. This empowers us to not only protect our enterprise but also our customers.” Putting aside the non-starter of Microsoft not upgrading. --did the writer know battery not charging, battery cant edit threshold, plug-in but showing no-plug? the CPU, memory, disk jump quite high takes 1 hrs down while memory still over 40% without any action but Alt-del-ctrl for task manager. i can see 9/15/2024 win10 thru on-screen keyboard new version showed b, n, /, ? space keys are disabled in notebook keyboard much better than before that <, >, ? and (arrow)up, down, left, right... also not working. but many years Google searched cant find solution at all. now win11 Enter key frequently not working does it cause by win11 on screen keyboard too (same as win10 new version which no enter key problem but "b, n, /, ? space" keys or hardly can use so cant see in front of my eyes)? will in the future "b, n, /, ?" keys block happens after exire on 10/8/2024? ps 9/15/2024 3:00am it seems i can use win10 finally with battery charging 58%, now i set windows update on 10/20/2024 and see whether MS update suspend till 10/19 which i have no confidence at all.once can auto cotrol user notebook like playing a God, it wont stop. --9/15 10:20 am the win10 notebook only worked less than 2 hours battery plugin but stop charging again. just turned on got blue screen (it keeps happen since ms updating in 2024. serached "blue screen" and popped up :Resolving Blue Screen errors in Windows Windows 11 Windows 10 Blue Screen errors (also sometimes called black screen errors or STOP code errors) can occur if a serious problem causes Windows to shut down or restart unexpectedly. --really? i normally shut down at 5:10? am, due to battery stop charging and down. i normally turned on at 10:22am immediately showing blue screen so pressed power key forced it shut down then turned on press F1 and then Esc battery was 49%, plugin not charging again. Restart your computer ps never help, believe me restart notebook frequently. once the key block never can recover until today found win10 got on screen keyboard new version which did solve win10 but not 100%. To fix it, you need to turn off these features. ps win11 Sticky/Filter/Toggle keys set off to reduce conflict, no help either. as Software engineer Background experiences always right in the beginning diable as manay fancy functions as possible including (Alt-Ctrl-Del) processes after installed WIN11 on 6/28/2024. i must make sure no Remote related processes are running. Reinstall the keyboard driver ps i did in win10 wont help. (IdeaPad 320 - 14IKB) Community, I like Conservation Mode. However I dont like the unchangeable threshold of 55-60%. How can I set this to 80-85%? I see a lot of articles in the web about it, but the setting is just not there in my Vantage. Ive updated and installed whatever the latest official tools are that I can find for my machine, yet its still not there. ->The threshold of 55-60% is the only default setting available to the Lenovo Vantage app. I have not heard nor read any details regarding this Vantage feature being configurable. If you might have read some, I would pretty much think some configurable methods are intended for Thinkpad models instead (models that can go a little far with configuration on settings). Some machines though have their battery stopping at 95% with the sign plugged in, not charging - all the same, the goal is to keep the battery from overcharging or reaching a potential battery damage when overcharging. --ps in fact advantage i downloaded did can edit threshold but immedidately the function disappeared. did advantage have different version but not for win10? thats confused me a lot and kept redownload until the edit threshold totally disappeared. the poster got conclusion that manually disabling CM(conservation mode), letting my machine charge up to ~80%, then enabling CM again. ps i did same thing not sure battery already damaged by MS updating or the method wont work because my battery 71% then drop down quickly to under 55% then start charging 53%(my case) which i didnt do anything except run Advantage. i wrote my feedback to Lenovo website as: we all suffering since MS delclared in 2024 would everyday update horrible nightmare especially battery not charging happened then uninstalled "lenovo power management" (assumed it caused problem) it became worse because cant re-install (not existing in MS store nor in your website) but google searched one. its not working so installed advantage. i cant use win10 notebook until 9/18(not 9/17) figured out power management tree processes might conflict with advantage then solved(i hope). i did search weird problem but never got proper answer for why plugin but not charging when it should be (already under 55% even down to 0%). --9/19/2024 4:20am checked battery 53% but charging, thats good, today can go to old house do our yard works. ....................................... 9/16/2024 when i got email from bank security related then to login the site found FIle Explorer screwed up again. what a Devil. Neither Russia Nor China hackers but MS itself caused lots deadly problems. However this time i did receive a fraud email from info@kataweb.it which turned out Italy website. after i block sender which was put in email provider "more settings" -> security and privacy->blocked addresses after i did window updated (hoping File Explorer recovery or fixed) and restart notebook the malicious fraud email was disappeared in "blocked addresses" listing. isnt very suspicious that certain fraud email senders can run away? i would say it is email provider inside employee/contractor did not Russia/China. ps http://www.kataweb.it/ is danger website due to try block sender failed and auto opened the email which obviously is foreign language so i visited www.kataweb.it when tried block sender again it auto changed to english. isnt scary? if any hacker must be the sender |
