Jennifer Warnes: Prairie Melancholy 草原憂思

在今天，思母之情油然而生，與一位格內好友共度憂思時刻

在來到 UDN 之前，我欣賞音樂的時間，遠遠超出任何其他休閑娛樂，而且是專注的。加入 UDN 之後，聽音樂的時間雖未稍減，但是寫心情故事佔據了那份專注。最喜歡的是此刻，兩者有交集的時候。由於欣賞西洋流行音樂的朋友很少，所以音樂的故事就存在日記中，而這個部落格終究沒能成為我想要以欣賞音樂為主題的內容。

我是 Jennifer Warnes 的頭號粉絲，想在此留個註記。

1976 年，排行榜的一首歌，深深吸引了我，與其說是歌，我應該說是她磁性宏厚又充滿柔情的歌聲。

出自於她的同名個人專輯 "Jennifer Warnes" 的 "Right Time of The Night"，我對她一見鍾情。戴副眼鏡，有 Nana Mouskouri 的氣質，但當時的名氣沒有 Nana 大。天籟歌聲如卡本特兄妹般的迷人，但當時卡本特兄妹的名聲已如日中天。豐富的 1970s 年代，在我心目中又出現一位巨星，Jennifer Warnes。

1980 年代，兩首電影主題曲，Up Where We Belong 和 The Time Of My Life，應是她最高的商業成就。而我除了她的第一張成名專輯之外，最欣賞的是她最有藝術成就的另三張個人專輯，The Famous Blue Raincoat (1987)，The Hunter (1992) 和 The Well (2001)。身為一位愛樂者，這三張專輯中的每一首歌曲都很棒，是放了不用選曲，而能從頭聽到尾的專輯。其中尤以 The Famous Blue Raincoat 這張專輯比較特殊，所有歌曲均是 Jennifer 詮釋 Leonard Cohen 的傑作，曲風與 Lenonard 大異其趣，各擅勝場，令人愛不釋手！

今天分享她在 The Well 專輯中，我很喜歡的一首歌曲，Prairie Melancholy 草原憂思，由 Jennifer Warnes 和 Nancy Bacal 作詞作曲。不懂詩詞的我，儘量將這首如詩一般的歌曲直譯。

YouTube 的音樂沒有歌詞也沒有影片，顯示這首歌並未得到太大關注，下面複製這張 CD 的封面，封底，和這首歌曲的歌詞。
