１９８０年代末期 英美兩地的節奏藍調／靈魂樂有著不小的差異
美國風行的是像Guy(１９８９年黑人榜年終藝人),Freddie Jackson這種比較傳統, 流行的節奏藍調
相對之下 英國就前衛一些 實驗性也較強
譬如麗莎史坦斯菲爾（Lisa Stansfield）, 就是紅（Simply Red）, （Fine Young Cannibals）就是箇中代表
這些歌手不僅在歐洲大賣 亦紅到美洲去
並影響到８０年代末／９０年代初期的美國R&B／Soul
１９８８年成立的靈魂靈魂（Soul II Soul） 是當時一個熱門團體
由非裔黑人Jazzie B ,Nellee Hopper擔任領軍（後來Bjork, Madonna"Bedtime Story"的製作人）
並邀請許多藝人客串
其融合R&B, Phylli Soul, Reggae, Jazz, Dance, Africa, Hip-Hop, Rap的樂風相當受到樂評激賞
１９８８年 靈魂靈魂發行兩支單曲 可惜在英國反應不佳
１９８９年３月 靈魂靈魂發行第三首單曲〔Keep On Moving／繼續移動〕
此曲為受到黑人樂團Chic 影響
是一首節奏柔緩 融合Soul , Jazz , House Beat的R&B舞曲佳作
在黑人女主唱Caron Wheeler宛如蘇格蘭絨般輕柔的黑人嗓音演繹下
釀成這首靈魂舞曲佳構
〔Keep On Moving〕立刻受到歡迎 登上英國榜＃５
讓靈魂靈魂一舉成名
連帶４月推出的首張專輯〔Club Classic Vol.1／舞廳經典第一輯(美國版改名為〔Keep on Moving〕)也頗為暢銷
並被譽為電子靈魂舞曲極品
（後來跟第四首主打〔Back To Life〕先後登上專輯／單曲冠軍）
至於瑞士＆奧地利是＃１８ 法國＃４６
１９９６年重新發行 則拿到英國＃３１
〔Keep On Moving〕在秋天登上美國黑人榜 舞曲銷售 舞曲播放三料冠軍
至於流行榜雖然只有得到＃１１ 不過由於停留時間極長
所以銷售成為百萬白金唱片
此曲在年終榜的表現亦很出色
分別是舞曲銷售冠軍 舞曲播放＃９ 黑人榜亞軍（僅次於凱倫懷特（Karyn White）的〔Superwoman／女超人〕）流行榜＃１００
隔年靈魂靈魂並獲葛萊美獎最佳新人提名(可惜敗給Milli Vanilli) （還有節奏藍調團體提名）
