她的風格特出　走的是以歐洲塞爾特人（The Celts）與中東為主題　帶有濃厚新世紀的‘世界樂風’（World Music）

風格空靈　被譽為加拿大的‘恩雅’

蘿琳娜是愛爾蘭與蘇格蘭後裔

少女時代便對塞爾特音樂有強烈興趣

１９８５年出道 發行首張專輯　走的即是塞爾特民謠風　但甚少人注意

１９８９年的第三張大碟〔Parallel Dreams／平行之夢〕成為事業轉捩點

由於蘿琳娜的樂風冷門　只經由某些獨立唱片通路銷售　〔Parallel Dreams〕卻在加拿大賣了４萬張（金唱片是５萬張）　成為其事業突破點（後來美國加拿大都拿到金唱片）

１９９１年　麥肯妮的第四張大碟〔The Visit／拜訪〕 由加拿大華納發行　賣出四白金（４０萬張）　成功讓她打入主流市場

（美國爾後也拿到金唱片佳績）

成為加拿大的新音樂天后

１９９４年的專輯〔The Mask and the Mirror／面具與鏡子〕也拿到三白金

１９９７年９月　４０歲的蘿琳娜推出大碟〔The Books of Secrets／秘密之書〕　頗獲佳評

首發單曲是〔The Mummer ‘s Dance／優伶之舞（啞劇演員之舞）〕

此曲融合塞爾特　新世紀　民謠的世界樂風

用了大量小提琴　手提琴　風笛　豎琴等樂器

在麥肯妮纖細嗓音的詮釋下　流露出一股空靈神秘的氛圍與廣闊的空間感

歌曲描述早期歐美節慶時四處巡迴拜訪各家各戶的啞劇滑稽劇團演員

〔The Mummer ‘s Dance〕於１９９８年被選為美國西部影集〔Legency〕與茱兒芭里摩主演的賣座愛情戲劇片〔EverAfter〕選為插曲

結果意外在美國走紅　讓這首非主流的冷門歌曲拿到告示單曲榜＃１８（現代搖滾榜＃１７　成人抒情榜＃２３）

也讓蘿琳娜在故鄉加拿大拿到首支（也是唯一一支）Top１０暢銷曲

不過麥肯妮賣的主要是專輯

除了加拿大仍舊暢銷外（４白金）

〔The Books of Secrets〕在美國賣出兩百多萬張　德國金唱片（＞２５萬）

其它地區亦有穩定銷售　

成為蘿琳娜事業最成功的專輯

但就在剛步入中年的麥肯妮功成名就之際　１９９８年夏天也碰到人生一大悲劇

其未婚夫與家人駕船出遊　在海中溺死

蘿琳娜深受打擊　謠傳她準備退休

直到２００６年才發行睽違９年的原創新碟

Anyway,〔The Mummer ‘s Dance〕是首相當特別的塞爾特新世紀／民謠歌曲

MV也拍得特別　剛看到那種以單色拍攝的啞劇滑稽劇團演員　我還覺得有些恐怖

（西方人可能覺得平常　但在東方人眼中就有些詭異　不過大概是陌生之故　其實沒那麼可怕）
