製作人為Arif Mardin．

這張專輯的源起跟１９８７年的大碟［Reservations for Two］有關。

由於［Reservations for Two］未能重現上張大碟［Friends］的成功（美國Billboard 專輯榜＃56）＿。

因此Arif Mardin建議狄昂合作一張名作曲家科爾波特（Cole Porter）作品的爵士樂風格翻唱專輯。

雖然兩人以這種方式錄製第一個版本，但Arista 負責人Clive Davis)發現結果“聽起來太像歌舞夜總會（cabaret）表演錄音”，因為他正在為專輯尋找舞廳（ballroom）風格的聲音。

華薇克和Mardin被迫重新錄製這張專輯，狄昂最初認為整體聲音“非常香草（平凡）”，
