１９４７年２月出生於伊利諾州芝加哥的丹尼斯迪楊（Dennis DeYoung）是美國搖滾樂團冥河（Styx）主唱

１９７２年加入樂隊，唱出眾多名曲

１９８４年冥河解散，迪楊展開單飛音樂事業．

１９８４年９月，３７歲半的丹尼斯在A&M旗下（亦是冥河唱片公司）推出首張個人大碟［Desert Moon／沙漠之月］

歌曲幾乎由他譜寫，並全權製作，走流行搖滾路線，獲得好評．

同名歌曲［Desert Moon／沙漠之月］為首支主打，１９８４年８月發行

由迪楊創作，並製作成一首軟式搖滾／抒情曲，旋律討好，丹尼斯高亢嗓音的表達細膩

原本這打算做為冥河專輯歌曲，因樂團解散作罷．
