１９８５年夏天，美國搖滾樂團芝加哥（Chocago）主唱彼得塞特拉（Peter Cetera, 1947-）離開團體, 展開單飛事業。

１９８６年６月２３日, ３８歲半的彼得推出個人第二張原創大碟［Solitude/Solitaire＊單獨/單人紙牌］（在芝加哥時期已出過一張）

由Michael Omartian製作, 走軟調搖滾與成人當代抒情曲風, 樂評正面多於正面。

首支主打是６月４日發行的［Glory of Love／愛的榮耀］

這是為功夫電影［The Karate Kid Part II／龍威小子2］演唱的主題曲, 登上美國單曲榜冠軍, 讓塞特拉個人事業前途看好。

１９８６年９月, 彼得乘勝追擊, 推出第二單曲［The Next Time I Fall／下一次戀愛］, 由他與美國當代福音流行樂天后艾美葛蘭特（Amy Grant）

此曲由Bobby Caldwell＋Paul Gordon譜寫。

兩人創作時心裡的對象是芝加哥樂團與主唱彼得塞特拉, 但不知後者已準備離開團體。當聽到彼得與芝加哥分道揚鑣, 他們心想期望大概告吹了。

某日Bobby Caldwell接到塞特拉的電話──他在大衛佛斯特（David Foster）聽到［The Next Time I Fall］試唱帶, 想把他灌唱成雙人合唱。

接下來彼得塞特拉必須決定合唱對象。他希望找個‘不知名’的歌手。

公司同事建議艾美葛蘭特──一個當代福音流行樂大紅, 但主流界知名度不高,且正試圖跨界的歌手。

艾美對這項提議感到興奮, 最後接受。

Michael Omartian將其製作成一首流行抒情曲, 旋律優美,

彼得高亢清亮的男聲與艾美略帶沙啞柔軟的女聲形成對比, 卻又和諧的結合在一起。
