１９４０年出生於薩爾瓦多的阿絲特魯吉芭托（Astrud Gilberto）是巴西著名巴薩諾瓦（Bossa nova）／爵士歌姬

原名Astrud Evangelina Weinert

母親是巴西拉丁人, 父親為德國語言教授, 因而學會多種語言

阿絲特魯在里約成長

１９５９年嫁給巴西音樂人──２８歲的João Gilberto（巴薩諾瓦之父）, 改冠夫姓──Astrud Gilberto, 並育有一子。

１９６３年, João Gilberto接受美國爵士薩克斯風家Stan Getz邀請, 前往紐約合作灌錄專輯［Getz/Gilberto］（Verve出版，Creed Taylor製作）

夫妻決定移居美國, 以發展事業。（只是兩人在１９６４年離婚）

阿絲特魯也在大碟兩首曲子［The Girl from Ipanema］［Corcovado］擔任歌手

［Getz/Gilberto］在１９６４年３月發行

首支單曲是１９６３年先行推出的［The Girl from Ipanema／Garota de Ipanema／伊帕內瑪姑娘］

此曲由巴西音樂家Antônio Carlos Jobim作曲,

詩人作家Vinicius de Moraes填上葡萄牙語詞

靈感來自Antônio Carlos Jobim與Vinicius de Moraes在伊帕內瑪海灘看到未來的巴西模特兒與商人Heloísa Pinheiro走過, 便以［Garota de Ipanema／伊帕內瑪姑娘］為名

伊帕內瑪只的是里約南部地區, 以優美海灘聞名。

１９６２年先由巴西歌手Pery Ribeiro灌錄。

在紐約錄音過程, João Gilberto ,Stan Getz, Antônio Carlos Jobim有了［Garota de Ipanema］英文版的想法。

美國作詞家Norman Gimbel受邀改寫英語詞, 改成英語歌名［The Girl from Ipanema］

阿絲特魯是團隊中唯一會說英語的人, 因此被選來演繹, （丈夫仍負責葡萄牙文部份）

［The Girl from Ipanema］是首巴薩諾瓦／爵士曲, 節奏輕鬆謠曳

阿絲特魯未經訓練, 沒有矯飾的嗓音相當符合這類樂風的隨興風格, 因此頗獲好評

［The Girl from Ipanema］單曲版省略João Gilberto演唱的葡萄牙文歌詞,只保留阿絲特魯部份

此曲頗受歡迎, 登上美國Billboard單曲榜＃５（1964年終#51）　副榜－Easy Listening榜兩週冠軍　在美國賣出１００萬張以上, 拿到金唱片。
