１９８７年　英國硬式搖滾天團威豹（Def Leppard）發行［Hysteria／歇斯底里］專輯

獲得高度評價（滾石雜誌４星）　被譽為可能是史上最佳流行金屬大碟

首支單曲選擇［Animal／動物］　在７月推出

這首節奏輕快的流行金屬搖滾由威豹跟製作人Robert John ‘Mutt’ Lange合寫

在１９８４年初就開始寫成　但花了兩年半才製作成他們想要的風格（期間鼓手Rick Allen在１９８４年因車禍失去左手　改以單用右臂打擊）

雖然威豹在１９８３年便以［Pyromania］登上美國亞軍成名（至今賣出１０００萬張）

但在故鄉成績普通　單曲更是連Top４０ 也沒打進過

不過這回［Animal］倒是打入英國榜＃６　成為他們第一首暢銷曲（但亦是這張大碟唯一的一首）

連帶也讓大碟空降冠軍　賣到雙白金

忠於讓威豹在家鄉揚眉吐氣

這也是威豹在國際有明顯成績的單曲：愛爾蘭＃３　紐西蘭＃８　瑞士＃１７　加拿大＃２１

在美國　唱片選擇［Women］為首波主打 但反應淒慘　只登上單曲榜＃８０

所以趕快在９月以［Animal］為第二主打　終於升到＃１９（＆主流搖滾榜＃５）

接下來威豹連續四首擠進Top１０　讓［Hysteria］登上冠軍

退榜前在美國就賣了近１０００萬張（目前１２白金）

成為當時世界最暢銷的重金屬專輯

正式讓他們躍升歌壇的天團
