１９９１年　２３歲的加拿大法裔歌姬席琳狄翁（Celine Dion）受邀與美國黑人歌手比柏布萊森（Peabo Bryson）為華德迪士尼（Walter Disney）動畫電影［美女與野獸／Beauty and the Beast］演唱同名主題曲

此曲由Howard Ashman＋Alan Menken合寫

在電影中, 由為角色Mrs. Potts的英國演員安琪拉蘭斯柏瑞（爵士）（Dame　Angela Lansbury）演唱

原版雖頗受好評, 但並不商業化, 也不符合電台播歌風格

因此迪士尼選擇席琳狄翁, 只是當時她在英語市場的事業剛開展不久, 名氣還不太高

所以又邀請相對有名的黑人唱將比柏布萊森（Peabo Bryson）合唱

流行版由俄裔製作人Walter Afanasieff掌舵, 他與Robbie Buchanan編成一首流行抒情曲　甜美溫馨

２３歲的狄翁與４０歲的比柏聲音搭配無間

單曲選在１９９１年１１月２５日發行

由於電影大賣, 連帶歌曲也受到歡迎

［Beauty and the Beast］登上美國單曲榜＃９（１９９２年終＃６４）　銷售逾７８萬張　拿到金唱片

成為席琳跟比柏事業第二首Top１０暢銷曲

另外登上副榜──成人抒情榜＃３（１９９２年終＃７）

加拿大亞軍, 也是當地１９９２成人抒情榜年度冠軍

國際表現也不錯：
