蒸汽老火車 CK124
台鐵 CK124 蒸汽火車和日本 JR 北海道 C11171SL「冬季濕原號」，將在 03/12 日締結為姊妹號列車，當天上午 10 時 9 分，雙方將同時鳴笛啟動，一同展開懷舊之旅。
台鐵 CK124 車齡已超過 70 年，這次與冬季濕原號結盟，並推出「仲夏寶島號-內灣之旅」行程，將和另一輛 CD101 蒸氣列車共同牽引 4 輛 DR2050 藍色小叮噹，載著民眾體驗內灣風光。台鐵行程將從新竹到內灣，日本 JR 行程則是從釧路開到標茶。 台鐵營業科長彭坤炎表示，當天雙方並會派員互相訪問，未來台日姊妹列車也會同時推動鐵道旅遊，如台鐵的 CK124 在夏天行駛、日本的冬季濕原號在冬天行駛，串連兩地鐵道觀光事業。
2006年DVworld討論區，有一篇蒸汽老火車CK124即將復駛平溪線的訊息，引起網友熱烈討論，而後並發起全程拍攝CK124復駛的行動。在不斷號召喊話下，最後總共有28位網友報名參與拍攝，也創下臺灣集體拍攝火車的先例。由於火車是行進的交通工具，一臺攝影機只能拍攝短短的幾秒鐘畫面，如果沒有多部攝影機在不同的路段等候，很難拍攝出完整的影片，所以必須組織攝影團隊，安排每部攝影機鏡位，並利用手機作為聯繫工具，每一站、每一站地回報火車的位置，機會只有一次，不容許絲毫閃失。這對完全沒有拍攝火車經驗，也沒有參與過團隊協同拍攝作業的網友來說，真的是高難度的挑戰！結果憑著一股熱情與傻勁，拍攝人員沒有一位缺席，冒著風雨，在崗位上守候了３個小時，就為了眼前那短短的幾秒鐘畫面，由於大家的毅力與堅持到底的決心，終於完成了臺灣火車攝影的創舉，就是這一部《臺灣蒸汽火車CK124》。
