The reason that I decided to attend a wedding in Washington D.C. partly was for seeing her famous cherry blossoms. But what did I see in the month of mid April this time? No cherry blossoms but some pinkish trees that we have in California. I was told a storm blew all the flowers down the week before I arrived. The temperatures of my three-day visit were 85 degrees, 67 and 72. Who to blame? Crazy global warming! Since I have visited D.C. before, I didn't want to cause my friend too much trouble finding a parking space so I just took some photos from her moving car. (Washington Monument and that famous Pennslyvania Avenue)
I shared this photo with my third grade students in the classroom and educated them that this WHITE thing is not called the White House. It is the Capitol Building. During my short stay in D.C., my friend took my sister and I to an outlet shopping center. I know many Asian girls love the brand of Coach purse so I decided to walk in and take some photos for my UDN girlfriends. Can you see the sign of Clearance plus additional 50% off? I would be a fool to skip this chance so I purchased a Coach bag paying US$168 instead of $425 . I've never cared about this or any brand and I still haven't figured out why Coach purses are so costly. While I was waiting for my sister, I looked up at the flag. Oh my God! I was in the state of Virginia, a state that I have never visited before. Of course the trip's highlight is for the wedding of Miss Li. It was held in Hilton Hotel. Beautiful , isn't it? |
