This is a ridiculous world and ridiculous era. While in the early 2007 most of the Americans were indulged with the growing price of their mortgaged houses and did not care much about the rocket-high oil price, in the late 2011 numerous people went out of their rented chambers to hold “Occupy Wall Street” protesting the total wealth of the 99% Americans was even less than that of the rest 1% ones.

Such inversion of wealth re-distribution was triggered by a financial meltdown called “the Financial Tsunami,” which was a serial bankruptcies and liquidations of banks and financial companies: Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, Lehman Brothers, AIG, and so on. The Financial Tsunami made millions of people lose their jobs, houses, and savings and ruined their dreams. Meanwhile, there rose a question in people’s minds, “Where does the money go?” Well, in my opinion, part of the money flooded into the CEOs’, who kindled the Financial Tsunami and wrecked their own companies, pockets because they got huge severance pays, the so-called “golden parachutes,” that exacerbated the companies' finance even more when they were laid off by their boards of directors; in addition, some CEOs got some extra-bonus, the eggs and hamburgers that the victims threw on them.

Some people criticized that the punishments of lay-off on these CEOs were nothing more than slaps on their wrists; however, even more people argued these were not punishments at all but ironically kinds of awards, the awards to thank these CEOs for ruining their companies and millions of dream. If the boards had really wanted to punish these incompetent arrogant CEOs, they would have done something more strategically: they would have, for an example, demoted these elephant-skinned CEOs’ positions to the lowest to force them to quit jobs without asking for severance pays.

What drove the victims even crazier was  most of these CEOs themselves were the board chairmen as well.
