12.      fjord (=fiord, n.) (尤指挪威海岸邊的)峽灣 A fjord is a narrow body or water cut into a valley by a glacier

13.      fund (v.) 提供(事業,活動等的)資金 to provide money for a person, program, or organization

14.      gem (n.) 寶石;寶玉 A gem is a jewel or stone that is used in jewelry.

15.      gun (n.) ; a weapon from which bullets are fired

16.      harpoon (n.) 魚叉 A harpoon is a long, pointed weapon with a rope attached to it, which is used to hunt large sea animals.

17.      melt (v.) 融化;熔化 to change from a solid to a liquid because it has been heated

18.      meltwater (n.) 冰雪融化後之水 Meltwater is water released from melting snow or ice.

19.      outlet glacier (n.) 注出冰河 An outlet glacier is a glacier that moves out from the edge of an ice sheet.

20.      pessimistic (adj.) 悲觀的Someone who is pessimistic thinks that bad things are going to happen.

21.      quantity (n.) 數量 an amount

22.      resource (n.) 資源;物力,財力 something useful and valuable like money or materials

23.      scowl (v.) 皺眉表示;...沈下臉 When someone scowls, an angry expression appears on their face.

24.      shift (n.) 轉移;移動 a change in position or location

25.      slide (v.) ,滑動 to move easily or quietly across a surface

26.      solve (v.) 解決;解釋 to find a solution or answer to a problem

27.      starve (v.) 餓死 to suffer greatly from lack of food

28.      sufficient (adj.) 足夠的,充分的 enough of something

29.      thaw (n.)  解凍時期,解凍 When ice, snow, or something else that is frozen thaws, it melts.

30.      uncover (v.) 揭開...的蓋子;移去...的覆蓋物 to be without a cover, to remove a cover

31.      unexpected (adj.) 想不到的;意外的;突如其來的 surprising because you did not think something would happen

32.      unstoppable (adj.) 擋不住的 impossible to stop

33.      urgent (adj.) 緊急的,急迫的 demanding immediate attention
