勇士在總冠軍戰第3戰100：116不敵塞爾提克，當家球星柯瑞（Stephen Curry）甚至在末節一次爭搶球時，遭霍福德（Al Horford）壓傷左腳踝，引起外界關注，而史馬特（Marcus Smart）也在10日替隊友澄清絕非故意。

史馬特告訴《雅虎體育》記者Chris Haynes說：「這是決賽，所有人都會奮不顧身，他們朝我們撲來，我們什麼都沒說依然繼續奮戰，沒有任何惡意。這是總決賽，我們跟他們一樣渴望贏球。」，史馬特繼續補充：「這是公平的比賽，這是公平的籃球，這是籃球總冠軍賽，沒有人會故意去傷害別人。」

雖然柯瑞在受傷的當下神情痛苦，但10日也傳出他的傷勢並不嚴重，甚至不需要做MRI檢查，預計能出戰第4戰。
