眾所周知，慈禧太后是清朝最有權勢的女人，誰都不敢得罪！但很難想像，竟有太監能將慈禧完全掌握，這位太監便是李蓮英；從史料上記載，可以看出李蓮英生性圓滑、唯利是圖，而且待人處世手段高明，因為獨得慈禧恩寵，經常收受賄賂、敲詐官員，就連慈禧也曾被玩弄於股掌之間，連把慈禧灌醉來滿足一己私欲的事也幹得出來，令人不齒！

李蓮英（1848年11月12日—1911年3月4日），漢族，原名李進喜，清咸豐五年淨身為太監，翌年入宮。同治六年，受封二總管。慈禧太后賜名連英，俗作蓮英。在宮中期間，深得慈禧太后器重，太后甚至打破「太監品級以四品為限」的皇家祖制，封為正二品總管太監，統領全宮所有宦官。陪伴慈禧太后近53年，是清末最有權勢的宦官，享年63歲。

由於李蓮英長年伴隨在慈禧身邊，慈禧想什麼、喜歡什麼，他都摸得一清二楚，就連慈禧皺一下眉頭，李蓮英都猜得到慈禧想要什麼；正因為如此，慈禧特別喜愛李蓮英，他簡直是慈禧肚子裡的蛔蟲，慈禧交辦事情根本不用多做說明，李蓮英都會做得很好，能得到老佛爺如此寵愛不是沒有原因的。

慈禧喜歡在夜深人靜時喝酒，三杯黃湯下肚，李蓮英有什麼要求，慈禧常是不加思索就爽快答應，李蓮英就是這樣獲得了不少好處！有一次，慈禧將要到香山去，那裡的管事一直想要慈禧題字的牌匾，而這樣的事自然想到了請李蓮英幫忙；當然，賄賂是少不了的，李蓮英對於錢也是來者不拒，但慈禧也不是好對付的，於是李蓮英就想到慈禧酒醉時那股爽快勁，於是就找機會把慈禧灌醉，就就這樣搞定了這件事！

翻開清朝歷史，能在老佛爺身上佔到便宜的，大概只有李蓮英，也大概只有他敢把慈禧灌醉來滿足一己私欲，可說是古往今來第一人！可惜李蓮英不把這才能用在正途上，讓清朝宮廷的風氣更加敗壞，加速清朝走向衰敗的命運。
