Yesterday my wife and I had a supper at a dinner in a ritzy department store located in East District, the so-called "yolk" area. The dinner is one of many a small restaurant gathered in a "nostalgic" food court, in which the both the exterior and interior decors are all pertaining to those of 50s or even earlier that could be found in Taiwan, or precisely, in Taipei.
Funny thing was: almost all of the guests there I met were young guys, rarely could I find anyone over 30, let alone the seniors like my wife and I. But for what were those kids nostalgic, anyway?
Then some old (duplicate) Jap pictures on the walls cast the light on my question. Because those old stuff, particularly the style of decoration, were descended from the age of Jap occupation, so maybe such an ambience would satisfy their hearts with that stupid philo-Jap sentiment, while they were enjoying their Chinese or Taiwanese food.
