以一首靈魂放克佳作〔Yes We Can Can〕一舉成名　拿下美國流行榜＃１１　黑人榜＃１２
１９７７年　三妹Bonnie離團發展個人事業  指針姐妹變成三人組

７０年代中期　指針姐妹漸走下坡

１９７８年　她們與Elerktra旗下的Planet公司簽約　開始與製作人理查佩瑞（Richard Perry）的合作

同年以一曲布魯斯史賓斯汀所寫的〔Fire〕美國流行榜亞軍　銷售超過百萬　重振聲勢

此後指針姐妹開始朝向較為當代流行曲風靠攏

光在美國就賣了３００多萬張　陸續發行四首Top１０單曲

遮張大碟曲風走的是Urban, Pop-Rock, Dance　更加主流　更加流行

雖然首支主打〔I Need You〕並不成功

但第二單曲〔Automatic〕隨即扳回一城　拿下美國＃５　英國亞軍　成為其事業代表作之一

不過〔Break Out〕中最有名的則是〔Jump(For My Love)〕

此曲在１９８４年洛杉磯夏季奧運開幕前發行

為了避免跟年初重金屬樂團范海倫（Van Helen）的冠軍曲〔Jump〕撞名　又加了個副標題

〔Jump(For My Love)〕是一首節拍明快　合聲精彩　強而有勁　帶點性暗示味道的電子合成流行舞曲
在大姐Ruth豐厚的黑人嗓音詮釋下　顯得活力十足
此曲在流行榜得到＃３　黑人榜＃３　 舞曲榜冠軍＃３　成人抒情榜＃１１

英國榜＃６　 加拿大＃８　澳洲＃８　愛爾蘭亞軍　紐西蘭＃１０　南非＃１３　德國＃２０
