Life is like a game or a series of games. The score of a game represents how hard the players have tried. No matter what kind of games, there are rules for players to follow. Under the same field, court, or arena of a game, players’ performances usually stand out with a team work effort. Either watching a 12-minute four quarters basketball game such as NBA or, a 15-minutes four quarters NFL game, or a nine-inning baseball game, the same is the intensity gets more excitement when the clock counts down from last minutes to last seconds as well as each last swing or throw/pitch. To the audience, some people reluctantly had to leave and avoid watching the game because they think their heart is not strong as enough to take the tense and competitive scores in the end. To the players, a few of them are the super stars and they can change the outcome of a game around. Those most valuable players, they seem to be born with the talent and it is simply said: “He got a game.” But for most players, they struggle a long way to be in a game. The saying is “practice makes perfect.” There are hours of practicing and tremendous effort for a player to be good enough to be in a game. The Chinese saying is; a minute on the stage requires ten years practicing effort. Or no one knows a person’s ten-year hard studying but one night fame makes him/her worldwide known. It seems to be a question of which part is more important: the process of getting there or the result/end of a performance. The process usually is long and hard working phrase and the person’s mentality is the key point. This process makes the person prepared for a chance to stand up. Also this process shapes the person’s characteristics. Some players are unable to control their temper during an ongoing game in which a messy result is ugly shown. Some players have faith in mind with calm, strong, and firm consistency. When a professional sport player has done his best in his own part/role, the rest is the team players’ coordination that includes the couch, manager, and so on; it is a team work/effort. In any given game, there is a certain playing time, but in our lives, there is no known time clock. The million dollar questions are when is the climax of our time? How are you gonna play it in your life? Are you ready to play the game of your life? |
