Topdon has introduced a new feature for its popular BT600 battery tester that lets technicians pull battery test reports digitally via QR code.

The BT600 is one of Topdon’s most popular battery testers. Users appreciate the tool because it is “rugged, durable, versatile, fast, and easy.” But Topdon says it is always trying to improve and innovate new features to make technicians’ jobs easier—and that is what the company has done with the BT600.

The New Feature: QR Code Reports

With the new firmware, the BT600 generates a QR code so the report can be pulled off the tool digitally. Users can still print the report using a regular printer, but they can also retrieve it electronically.

To retrieve the report, a user can aim a digital inspection tablet at the QR code on the BT600, and the report will open on the tablet. An internet connection on the tablet is required for the report to load.

The digital report includes the same measurements users would normally get from the BT600—state of health, state of charge, the current cold cranking amps rating, calculated resistance, and all the other measurements—presented in a “nice, simple, digital report” that can now be exported by QR code from the BT600.
