    equable = 穩定的，均等的。equanimity〔EQU equal + ANIM mind〕= 鎮定，平靜。Equate = 使相等。equilateral〔EQU equal + LATER side〕= 等邊的（三角形等）。equilibrium〔EQU + LIBR balance〕=  平衡狀態。equinox〔EQU + NOX night〕= 晝夜平分時，春分或秋分日。Equitable = 公平的。Equity = （法律）衡平法上的權利，公平。equivocal〔EQU + VOC voice〕= 雙關的，模稜兩可的。equivocate〔EQU + VOC〕= 模稜兩可地說，含糊其詞。

EU—good, well / 好、好的

    eulogy〔EU good + LOG speech〕= 稱讚，頌文。eulogize〔EU good + LOG speech〕= 稱讚，頌揚。Euphemism = 委婉的說法，婉轉的言詞。euphony〔EU  + PHON sound〕= 悅耳的聲音。Euphonious = 悅耳的，和諧的。Euphoria =幸福感。

EX, ES, E—out / 向外

GEN—birth, race, kind / 誕生、種族、種類

    generation = 同時代的人，世代。genius = （羅馬神話）守護神，天份，才華。generate = 產生，使發生。hydrogen〔HYDR water + GEN birth〕= 氫。

    generous = 慷慨的。genial = 和藹的。genteel = 有教養的。gentility = 較高的社會地位，文雅。gentleman = 上流人士，紳士。gentry = 出身名門者。

    engender = 引起，造成。genesis = 起源。progeny〔PRO forth + GEN〕= 後生，子孫。progenitor〔PRO + GEN〕= 祖先。ingenious〔IN in + GEN〕= 聰明的，精巧的。ingenuous〔IN + GEN〕= 天真無邪的。

    gene =（生物）遺傳因子，基因。genetics = 遺傳學。genealogy〔GEN race + -LOGY study of〕= 宗譜，家譜學。genocide〔GEN race + CID to kill〕= 種族屠殺。
