This is an inspiring and touching story set in Tamsui Fishing Harbor, with Qiu Yaxin as the female protagonist. Her mother, Qiu Yuling, is the adopted daughter of fisherman Qiu Yonglai. Yuling’s early life was full of hardships. She was married twice in her youth and had two daughters and one son. After confronting her second husband, who was addicted to drugs, she finally broke free from domestic abuse. However, as a woman raising three children alone in the expensive Taipei metropolitan area, making a living was extremely difficult. Ultimately, Yuling decided to return to her hometown of Tamsui with her children to seek support from her adoptive father, Qiu Yonglai.

Upon returning to her paternal home in Tamsui, Yuling and her children were warmly welcomed by her adoptive father Yonglai and her younger brother Zhikun, who deeply appreciated Yuling’s past care and devotion to the family. However, her elder brother Qiu Zhiqian and his wife were very displeased that Yuling changed all three children’s surnames to Qiu, fearing she was back to claim part of the family inheritance. They persistently alienated and ridiculed Yuling and her children, trying to force them to leave. Thanks to Yonglai’s decision and Zhikun’s protection, Yuling and her three children finally settled down.

Yaxin and her two siblings transferred to local Tamsui schools. Yaxin, who has a hearing impairment, enrolled at Tamsui Junior High School. She was bullied by a group of girls in her class, but Luo Xin, the class discipline monitor, stood up to defend her. Luo Xin’s mother, Chen Shuhui, is mute and deaf, so she communicates with Yaxin through sign language, and the two girls became close friends.

On a Saturday, Yaxin went to the fishing harbor to pick up fresh fish from her younger brother-in-law Zhikun. Zhikun’s fisherman companions mistakenly thought Yaxin was his girlfriend. On her way back, Yaxin met her childhood playmates Luo Xin and Luo Le, siblings who were performing martial arts at the Fisherman’s Wharf. Luo Xin demonstrated lightness skills by stepping on a plate of eggs, and Luo Le laid on a bed of nails with a stone tablet on his chest. The siblings practiced martial arts with their father Luo Wenming and performed to earn money by selling medicine and treating patients.

Luo Xin took Yaxin on a food tour, and they stopped by the stall of painter Lin Fengmian. Luo Xin told Yaxin that she was studying painting under Master Lin and planned to apply to an art specialty class. Later, they were drawn by violin music and watched a street artist performing. The violinist, Xi Yang, noticed the young girl wearing a hearing aid who loved music very much and offered to teach her violin, which delighted Yaxin.

After bidding farewell to Xi Yang and Luo Xin, Yaxin stopped by a music store and gazed dreamily at the violins displayed in the window, imagining herself playing the violin.

At home, Yaxin overheard a conversation between her mother Yuling and her grandfather. Yuling explained that to make ends meet, she had no choice but to work again at a karaoke bar as a hostess who both serves drinks and sings with customers. Although her grandfather initially opposed this, he eventually accepted Yuling’s sacrifice for her children. Yaxin resolved to help ease her mother’s financial burden.

The next day, Yaxin returned to Fisherman’s Wharf to hear Xi Yang play. Seeing Xi Yang busy, she offered to help. Afterwards, Xi Yang gave Yaxin some spare change, urging her to save it and to come help every day.

Yaxin visited Luo Xin, where the siblings were performing a spear and double-sword duel. The three then greeted the audience together. Luo Le showed a liking for Yaxin.

For her birthday, Luo Xin visited the Qiu family’s traditional three-section courtyard and brought Yaxin a classical violin album. Luo Xin noticed Yaxin’s younger brother Youji busily sketching and admired his creativity. She wanted to talk with him, but Youji only smiled foolishly and did not respond. Yaxin explained that Youji had never been very sociable. Luo Xin taught Youji about composition and color matching, while Luo Le performed magic tricks for Yaxin and her siblings.

During summer vacation, Yaxin lived up to expectations by being admitted to Tamkang High School’s gifted class as her first choice, receiving a full scholarship. Luo Xin also succeeded in entering the art specialty class. Yonglai and Zhikun were overjoyed, but Zhiqian and his wife Aiqiao ridiculed them, stirring discontent between the brothers.

On the first day of school, classmates took turns introducing themselves. Zhang Xueye, whose father is a county councilor and who had excelled in multiple music competitions, confidently stood out. Wu Dazhi, son of the town mayor, was humble and polite. When it was Yaxin’s turn, the class quieted down. Homeroom teacher Yan Ruyu explained Yaxin’s situation to encourage classmates to support her in life and studies, though some whispered behind her back.

That night, local thug Ma Dafa and his men came to the karaoke bar to collect protection money. Seeing the attractive Yuling, Ma Dafa made unwanted advances. Yuling tried to reason with him, but after failing, struck him with a tray. Ma Dafa’s men then grabbed her by the hair and beat her until the karaoke bar owner Wu Tairan intervened to help.

At home, Yuling, holding her injured face, hurried into the courtyard intending to go straight to her room but was seen by Zhikun, who was shocked. Yonglai was heartbroken for his suffering daughter. Zhiqian showed no sympathy and mocked her again, causing an argument between Yonglai and Zhikun. Yaxin arrived home, saddened by her mother’s wounds, and offered to help earn money, begging her mother not to work at such places. Although Yuling’s work was hard, she had dignity and did not want her children to suffer as she did. She emphasized the importance of education and urged them to study hard for a better future. Zhikun gave medicine to Yuling and comforted the crying mother and daughter.

Because Xi Yang had to help rehearse the choir at the Presbyterian Church, Yaxin went with him. Through Xi Yang, she met the church’s female piano teacher Miss Candy (Tang Meiyun). When Candy learned that Yaxin loved music, she immediately took her hand to touch the piano keys and taught her about scales.

At home, Yaxin placed a long strip of paper with black and white piano keys drawn on her desk and focused on “playing” the silent piano. Playful Qiu Dafu tried to scare her but failed and then grabbed her hearing aid. After a brief chase, elder brother-in-law Zhiqian scolded Yaxin harshly, but younger brother-in-law Zhikun protected her and retrieved the hearing aid.

In Tamkang High School’s gifted freshman class, teacher Yan Ruyu publicly read Yaxin’s essay, making her the center of attention for the first time. However, Zhang Xueye and her clique, the “Princess Gang,” wore scornful expressions. After class, the Princess Gang cornered Yaxin in the hallway, verbally abusing her and snatching her backpack to throw it away. Wu Dazhi stood up to defend Yaxin but was mocked by the Princess Gang. Teacher Yan Ruyu happened by, stopped the bullying, and took Zhang Xueye and the gang to the teacher’s office for reprimand. At home, Zhang’s father Zhang Yingming was furious upon learning from her report card that she led the bullying and scolded her severely.

Luo Xin visited Yaxin, and they walked on the school lawn. Seeing Yaxin upset, Luo Xin asked about the bullying. Luo Xin wanted to stand up for Yaxin, but Yaxin did not want to cause trouble.

After leaving school, Yaxin walked through Tamsui Old Street, where local gang leader Zhao Mubai’s underlings, including Red Monkey, rode by on motorcycles. Seeing Yaxin’s pretty face, they tried to harass her. Schoolmates Li Zixuan and Wu Dazhi rode by on bicycles and immediately helped Yaxin. Yaxin went to the Presbyterian Church and met Zixuan, who recognized her. Yaxin then learned Zixuan was Teacher Candy’s cousin.

The next day, Zhang Yingming came to the school to communicate and apologized to Yaxin’s parents at the request of Teacher Yan Ruyu. He discovered that Yuling was his old classmate and former lover and invited her for coffee to catch up. After hearing about Yuling’s hardships, he felt compassion and began to consider rekindling their past relationship.

One night, in the nostalgic karaoke bar, Yuling was pressured by several patrons to drink alcohol. Wu Tairan, who admired Yuling, stepped in to protect her. Feeling sorry for her plight, he developed feelings for Yuling.

After school, Wu Dazhi acted as a protector escorting Yaxin from the corridor to the school gate. They were seen by Zhang Xueye and the Princess Gang, who sided with Xueye and accused Dazhi of poor judgment. Luo Xin passed by and quarreled with the Princess Gang, almost coming to blows but was stopped by Yaxin. Luo Xin told Dazhi to protect Yaxin well, and Dazhi promised to try his best.

Yaxin’s younger sister, Meiyin, who attends junior high, envied classmates from wealthy families who owned luxury stationery and high-end hairbands. She asked their mother Yuling for more pocket money to buy a hairband. Yuling refused and scolded her. Meiyin sulked and pushed Yaxin before leaving. Their younger brother Youji kept his head down, drawing a picture of a dark-colored Charizard angrily roaring at two women.

Passionate about music, Yaxin practiced piano diligently at church under Candy’s guidance. When Xi Yang asked about Yaxin’s progress, Candy praised her as a promising talent. One night, Yuling called Yaxin to help in the kitchen but couldn’t find her. She went to Yaxin’s room and found her silently “playing” the drawn piano keys. Yuling approved of the church lessons. Meanwhile, Youji continued doodling, and Meiyin happily watched a singing show.

That day, Yuling asked Yaxin and Meiyin to go shopping together. Reluctantly, Meiyin accompanied Yaxin. On the way, classmates learned Meiyin had a deaf sister and shunned her, making Meiyin embarrassed and demand Yaxin not walk with her.

After street performances, Yaxin helped Xi Yang pack his instruments. Xi Yang treated her to herbal tea and shared stories about his hometown and dreams, encouraging her to bravely pursue hers. During breaks at school, the Princess Gang continued to tease Yaxin, who quietly turned off her hearing aid. In the silent world, their signing and gesturing made them look like clowns.

To prepare for the Christmas party, the church rehearsal room saw Yaxin and Zixuan perform a piano and violin duet. Tang Meiyun praised their excellent coordination and professional level. She hinted that if the two married in the future, they would be an outstanding musical duo.

Candy, Zixuan, and Yaxin went together to the New Taipei City Cultural Bureau’s auditorium for Zixuan’s regional music competition preliminaries. At the registration desk, they met Zhang Xueye, who thought Yaxin was also competing and treated her disdainfully. Zixuan explained Yaxin was there to observe. Zhao Mubai and his men also came to stir trouble and almost clashed with Zixuan. Xueye drove Mubai away and apologized to Zixuan. During the competition, Yaxin realized Xueye was very skilled and worried about her own late start.

The results were announced: Zixuan and Xueye advanced to the finals in violin and piano categories, becoming school celebrities. Tang Meiyun encouraged Yaxin to practice diligently and assured her she would achieve good results in the future.

On the weekend, Fisherman’s Wharf was crowded with tourists. In one corner, Xi Yang and Yaxin played violin together. Zhang Xueye and the Princess Gang passed by, and Xueye was drawn in by the music. The Princess Gang was surprised and whispered among themselves, acknowledging that Yaxin had clearly been learning violin for some time.

Luo Xin and Yaxin accompanied Youji to Yangmingshan Park for a sketching competition. In a pavilion, Youji concentrated on drawing while Luo Xin gave guidance. Yaxin took out her hand-drawn piano keys and practiced “silent piano,” which intrigued Luo Xin. Yaxin explained she was learning piano but couldn’t afford a real one, so she practiced in this makeshift way.

The school announced a piano competition. After class, Yaxin told Xi Yang and Candy, who both encouraged her to participate. When Yuling learned this, she expressed support. Zhang Yingming called Yuling and invited Yaxin to practice at his home. Zhiqian overheard the conversation and mocked Yaxin during dinner. Yonglai and Zhikun showed support and promised to help find a piano teacher. Meiyin was unhappy, questioning why a deaf person would learn piano when she wanted to learn singing herself. Yuling scolded her, and Meiyin retreated angrily to her room.

Meiyin’s birthday was approaching. Yaxin took out her saved coins to buy a hairband for Meiyin. At the boutique, the owner, upon learning Yaxin’s situation, sold it to her at a discount. Yaxin gave Meiyin the gift, but Meiyin showed little gratitude. That night, Meiyin quietly got up, wore the hairband, and happily posed in front of the mirror. Pretending to be asleep, Yaxin smiled contentedly and fell asleep.

After school, when Xueye learned Yaxin would practice piano with her at home, she was very unhappy. Upon entering the house, Xueye went straight to the piano room. Yaxin hesitated at the door, but Yingming led her to another piano inside. Xueye vented her anger by playing recklessly. The piano tutor noticed her lack of focus and casually praised Yaxin. Hearing this, Xueye angrily left. Yaxin stopped playing, feeling awkward. Xueye didn’t practice afterward and boredly flipped through magazines. Her cousin Mubai came to take her out, and though Xueye initially refused, she changed her mind upon hearing piano sounds from the room.

After returning home, Ya Xin told Yu Ling that she didn’t want to practice piano at Ying Ming’s house. Zhikun overheard their conversation from outside the living room and decided to buy a piano for Ya Xin. The next day, Zhikun, dressed in fisherman’s gear and long plastic rain boots, went to a musical instrument store to ask the owner about the price of a piano. When Yonglai learned that Zhikun wanted to buy a piano for Ya Xin, he offered to contribute money. However, Zhigan and his wife strongly opposed it. After failing to stop the purchase, they vented their anger on Yu Ling, who had just come home. Yu Ling advised her father Yonglai not to buy the piano, but Yonglai said it was his own decision and told Yu Ling to ignore Zhigan and his wife.

Ya Xin participated in a school player selection contest. The judges were surprised to see her hearing aid. At first, Ya Xin was a bit nervous, but after calming down, her performance improved steadily and earned the judges’ praise and recognition. When Grandpa Yonglai received a call from Ya Xin’s teacher informing him that Ya Xin had passed the school piano competition selection, he happily urged Zhikun to quickly ask the music store when the piano could be delivered.

Ya Xin ran into the church to find Xi Yang and teacher Candy to tell them the news about passing the school selection, then hurried home to tell her mother. Upon arriving, she found no one at home. Just then, Zhikun came over, took Ya Xin’s hand, and led her to the now-empty warehouse, where everyone was crowded together admiring the new piano. Mei Yin quietly left, and Ya Xin noticed that Mei Yin’s expression was unusual. When Ya Xin returned to her room, Mei Yin was already asleep with her head covered. At the desk, Ya Xin found a singing competition registration form on Mei Yin’s table. The next day, after Mei Yin came home, she suddenly realized Ya Xin was playing the designated song for the competition she was entering. She was stunned, standing at the doorway. Ya Xin invited Mei Yin inside to sing along. Yu Ling saw the two getting along harmoniously and felt comforted.

After passing the piano selection, mentor Yan Ruyu asked Ya Xin if she wanted to continue her studies. Seeing Ya Xin hadn’t decided yet, the teacher handed her the “NTNU Music Department Independent Admission Brochure.” Ya Xin returned to her seat to look through it. The school princess came to pick a fight, but Ya Xin quietly turned off her hearing aid. The princess’s provocation failed, and she left in frustration.

Zhikun was cooling off in the yard when beautiful piano music flowed from the music room. He took out a portable music player, placed it on the tea table, and recorded the music.

After a street performance, Ya Xin showed the brochure to Xi Yang. Xi Yang encouraged her to actively prepare for the entrance exam and began adjusting her posture, guiding her fingering and playing techniques. Teacher Candy watched nearby, and the two took turns coaching. Zhikun went out to sea, sitting at the bow of the boat, listening to the recording of Ya Xin’s piano playing, which drew the curiosity of other fishermen.

As the singing competition approached, Mei Yin worried because she had no performance costume. She asked her sister Ya Xin for help. Ya Xin went to the kitchen to discuss it with their mother, but before she could finish, her mother strongly opposed the idea and wanted Ya Xin to persuade Mei Yin to give up singing. Ya Xin had no choice but to go to the church to talk with Xi Yang. Candy then said she had clothes to lend, which reassured Ya Xin. Ya Xin noticed Xi Yang had a crush on Candy and wanted to play matchmaker for the pair. Yu Ling invited Zhang Yingming to dinner and told him about Mei Yin’s dream of becoming a singer. Yingming said it was good for young people to have dreams and tried to comfort Yu Ling.

Early one morning, Ya Xin and Mei Yin prepared to sneak out to participate in the competition. When they opened the door, they were shocked to find their mother standing there. They thought she was there to stop them, but instead, she brought out a sequined stage costume she once wore for her own performances to give to Mei Yin. Mei Yin was stunned. That night, the whole family gathered to watch the singing competition. Mei Yin made it to the finals, and everyone was very happy, except Zhigan and his wife who felt uneasy.

Zhang Yingming asked the driver to park near the corner across from a karaoke snack bar, waiting for Yu Ling to finish work. Suddenly, he saw Yu Ling struggling with a man. He immediately got out of the car and pushed Wu Tairan to the ground. The two men wrestled each other. Yu Ling was at a loss. The driver hurried over to pull them apart. After learning that both men were pursuing Yu Ling, they demanded to know whom she liked. Yu Ling said she liked neither and left the two men standing there in stunned silence as if doused with cold water.

The competition was near. Ya Xin practiced piano in the church. Xi Yang and teacher Candy praised Ya Xin’s piano skills and encouraged her to overcome her nervousness in front of an audience. At the competition, Xue Ye played piano on stage with focus and the judges recognized her skill. Ya Xin, waiting backstage, was very nervous and kept shaking in front of the audience. When she bowed, her hearing aid was visible, prompting murmurs from the crowd. After touching the piano keys, she overcame her nervousness and performed excellently. The competition results placed Zhang Xueye second, and Ya Xin first. The late-arriving cousin Mu Bai brought a bouquet to show affection to Xueye, but Xueye ignored him and left quickly. Seeing this, Mu Bai noticed the trophy Ya Xin was holding and immediately understood the situation.

Xueye quietly came to Ya Xin’s home, leaning outside the courtyard wall with her eyes closed to listen to the piano sound from inside. Yu Ling invited Xueye inside, but she declined and left. Yu Ling told Ya Xin that Xueye had visited, so Ya Xin ran outside but couldn’t see her anymore. Zhang Yingming angrily took the second-place piano trophy and went to the music room to question Xueye about why she had thrown the trophy on her seat after the awards ceremony and left in a huff. When he saw Xueye voluntarily practicing piano, he was relieved and left. From then on, Xueye’s attitude toward Ya Xin changed noticeably; she took the initiative to talk to Ya Xin and invited her to practice piano together.

Ya Xin’s younger brother Youji spent recess drawing. Classmate Li Zhongping came over to tease him. When Youji didn’t react, Li Zhongping intensified the teasing and snatched his drawing. Youji tried to get it back, but in the struggle Li Zhongping lost balance, fell, and hit his head on a table corner. The next day, teacher Wang invited both sets of parents to the school. Yu Ling apologized, and the other party, knowing they were at fault, said they would not pursue it. Afterward, teacher Wang praised Youji’s artistic talent and wanted to send his work abroad for a competition. However, she was concerned Youji might have autism and advised Yu Ling to take him to see a doctor. Because of this, Yu Ling reluctantly sought help from Zhang Yingming. This was their first meeting since the last rejection incident. After talking, all awkwardness dissolved, and Yu Ling told him about her son’s situation. The next day, Zhang Yingming introduced a well-known psychologist to diagnose Youji. The psychologist took Youji out of the counseling room and asked to talk privately with Yu Ling. It was then revealed Youji had experienced trauma from his mother being abused by his father’s family. Yu Ling sat nearby, unable to hold back her tears watching Youji.

Xi Yang performed at Fisherman’s Wharf while Ya Xin helped. Xueye’s cousin Zhao Mubai and a few thugs wandered the street. Seeing Xi Yang and Ya Xin, they caused trouble, injuring Xi Yang and forcibly breaking the handle of the violin he snatched.

Yu Ling and Ya Xin visited Xi Yang in the hospital. Xi Yang knew Ya Xin was worried about the broken violin and told her not to worry—he would fix it before her university entrance exam.

Mubai went to Xueye’s home, boasting to Xueye who was practicing piano about his attack on Ya Xin and Xi Yang. Yingming learned of this and scolded Xueye. Xueye said she was unaware and was willing to apologize to Ya Xin. The next day, Yingming took Xueye to visit Xi Yang in the hospital to apologize. Xueye saw the broken violin set aside.

On university entrance exam day at the NTNU music department practical test site, Yingming and Yu Ling’s families attended to accompany. Xueye performed excellently and encouraged Ya Xin waiting beside the stage. Ya Xin went on stage and played piano with her hearing aid, leaving a deep impression on the judges. Then Ya Xin took out a violin with tape on it from its case. The judges suggested she change violins. Ya Xin hesitated but declined. After the performance, the judges said it would affect her score and again asked her to switch violins. Then Xueye raised her violin, offering to lend it to Ya Xin. After switching violins, Ya Xin’s fluent and beautiful playing moved everyone present. At home, Xueye asked her father Yingming to buy a violin as a gift for Ya Xin. Yingming gladly agreed, feeling his daughter had matured.

Ya Xin and Xueye both passed the exam as expected. After seeing the results, Ya Xin returned home. Her younger brother Zhikun handed her a package with English writing. Ya Xin told her family that Youji’s painting had won an international award. Everyone happily gathered around to look at Youji’s painting, which showed Ya Xin’s side silhouette playing piano in the music room, with the hearing aid resting on the piano.

Xi Yang, Candy, and Ya Xin prepared cake and cocktails together to send off Zi Xuan, who was about to leave. Candy played the piano, Xi Yang the violin, and Zi Xuan took Ya Xin’s hand to dance a waltz, parting reluctantly. At this moment, Xi Yang announced his engagement to Candy.

Five years later, Ya Xin stood at the podium in a music classroom as a teacher at her alma mater, Tamkang High School. Students sang attentively along with the piano music. In the hallway, Li Zi Xuan wore a suit and held a bouquet. When class ended and Ya Xin walked out, Zi Xuan greeted her and spun her around in a joyful embrace. The students watching cheered thunderously.

Zi Xuan and Ya Xin entered the auditorium, with Xi Yang and Candy as witnesses. Family and friends from both sides attended to congratulate them. At this moment, a van stopped and Zhang Xueye and her manager got out. She was now a well-known movie star. Zi Xuan and Ya Xin received Xueye’s blessings.

Mei Yin took a taxi home, smelling of alcohol and was scolded by Yu Ling. Ya Xin reminded her sister that the entertainment industry is complicated and urged her to keep a clean image. Mei Yin found her sister nagging. That night, Mei Yin suffered morning sickness, which was discovered by Yaxin. Ya Xin asked how Mei Yin got pregnant and whose child it was. Mei Yin panicked and nervously told Ya Xin the truth. After becoming a singer, Mei Yin’s work schedule was chaotic, often traveling, and she lived with a male singer with whom she had an affair and became pregnant. Ya Xin asked if the man was willing to take responsibility, but since he was a public figure, he refused and demanded Mei Yin have an abortion. Mei Yin refused but didn’t know what to do, so she returned home. Realizing the seriousness, Ya Xin decided to discuss it with their mother. During the talk, Yu Ling was furious—both at herself for not taking better care of Mei Yin, letting her become a singer, and repeating her own unhappy mistakes, and at Mei Yin for not considering her feelings and causing their current situation.

Yu Ling didn’t know what to do about Mei Yin and sought help from Yingming, who had become the speaker of the New Taipei City Council. Yingming assured her he would resolve the matter satisfactorily and told her not to worry, immediately ordering his people to find the male singer.

The next day, Yu Ling took Mei Yin to the agreed meeting place with Yingming. At this time, the male singer Luo Shijie was brought there. Yingming pressured him to take responsibility for Mei Yin. If he refused, he would be thrown into the Tamsui River to feed the fish. Scared pale, Shijie quickly agreed.

A new semester began. Ya Xin walked to the music classroom as usual to face a group of new, passionate music students. As they introduced themselves and performed talents, Ya Xin noticed a boy wearing a hearing aid holding a worn-out violin. The boy courageously introduced himself with a strained voice and started to play, but the violin was so damaged the sound was harsh, drawing disdainful boos from classmates. Upon inquiry, Ya Xin learned the boy’s name was Li Tingli, who was passionate about music, especially violin, but due to family issues and lack of a proper learning environment, he couldn’t study properly. Ya Xin recalled her own situation and decided to help him realize his potential and dreams. Ya Xin took Tingli to meet Xi Yang at Fisherman’s Wharf and explained his background. Xi Yang told Tingli that Ya Xin had gone through similar hardships and had earned her status by persevering. He encouraged Tingli to study hard, promising he could carve out his own path. Ya Xin, Tingli, and Xi Yang shared a smile.

On a sunny afternoon, Ya Xin and Zi Xuan strolled through Tamsui Old Street and heard a pleasant violin concerto in the distance.    這是發生在淡水漁港，一則勵志感人的故事，而邱雅歆正是這篇故事的女主角。母親邱玉玲是漁夫邱永來的養女，前半生命運坎坷，年輕時結過兩次婚，先後生下兩女一男，和染上毒癮的第二任老公攤牌後，終於擺脫家暴陰影；但一個婦道人家帶著三個孩子，要在高物價的台北都會謀生實屬不易，最後玉玲決定帶著孩子回到故鄉淡水，投靠養父邱永來。

   玉玲母子回到淡水娘家，養父邱永來與小弟志坤感念邱玉玲以往對家裡的照顧與奉獻，伸出親情的雙手歡迎她們回家，但大弟邱志乾夫妻對於邱玉玲將三個孩子全都改姓邱這件事，非常不滿，擔心她回來分家產，不斷地排擠她們，藉機會對她們冷嘲熱諷，意圖逼迫她們母子離開。在養父永來做主與小弟志坤的維護下，玉玲母女四人總算安頓下來。雅歆三姐弟分別轉學到淡水的國中小學，有聽力障礙的雅歆轉到淡水國中就讀的雅歆，被班上一票女生欺負，風紀股長羅欣挺身維護雅歆，羅欣生母陳淑惠瘖啞，所以她能以手語和雅歆交談，兩人成為手帕交。

   週六，雅歆到漁港找小舅志坤取鮮魚，志坤的漁夫夥伴誤以為雅歆是他的小女友。回程途中遇見了正在漁人碼頭邊表演武術，以前的童年玩伴羅欣和羅樂兄妹，羅欣表演輕功，腳踩一盤雞蛋；羅樂上身打刺膊，躺在釘床上，胸前壓著一面石碑。兩兄妹跟著父親羅文明練武，四處表演武術賣藥和替病人治傷。羅欣帶著雅歆到處逛吃小吃，兩人來到畫家林風眠的攤位前，羅欣說她正和林師學繪畫，將來有意報考美術班。隨後兩人被琴聲吸引，駐足欣賞街頭藝人演奏小提琴，從交談中小提琴藝人席揚，得知這個帶著助聽器的小女孩非常喜愛音樂，表示願意教她小提琴，這讓雅歆非常開心。向席揚和羅欣告別後，雅歆走到樂器行門口，看到櫥窗裡陳列小提琴，便陷入自己拉小提琴的幻想之中。

   回家後，雅歆聽到母親玉玲跟外公的對話，才知道母親為了生計，不得已又去卡拉OK餐廳上班，領檯兼陪酒伴唱；外公起先非常反對，但體諒為了兒女無奈犧牲自己的玉玲，只好妥協了。雅歆決定幫忙分擔家計，減輕母親的經濟壓力。

   隔天，雅歆又到漁人碼頭聽席揚演奏，見席揚忙不過來便主動上前幫忙，事後席揚抓了一把零錢給雅歆，要她把錢存下來，並希望她每天都能來幫忙。

雅歆去找羅欣，見兩兄妹正在表演長槍和雙刀對打，隨後，三人一起招呼觀眾，羅樂對雅歆頗有好感。

   雅歆過生日，羅欣前來邱家三合院找雅歆，帶給她古典小提琴專輯。羅欣看見一旁專心塗鴉的有吉，覺得有吉的繪畫很有創意，好奇的她想和有吉交談，但有吉不回答只傻笑，雅歆說有吉從以前就不太搭理人。羅欣教有吉構圖和配色，羅樂變魔術給雅歆姐妹看。

   暑假裡，雅歆果然不負所望以以第一志願考取淡江高中資優班，獲得全額獎學金，羅欣則如願考取美術班。永來和志坤為此欣喜若狂，但志乾、愛嬌夫妻卻冷嘲熱諷，此舉引起永來和志坤不滿。

   開學第一天，同學輪流自我介紹，父親是縣議長的張雪野，曾在多次的音樂比賽裡表現優異，自我介紹時表現得自信且搶眼；父親是鎮長的吳大志，則是態度謙虛、彬彬有禮。當輪到雅歆自我介紹時，一開口，同學都安靜了下來，導師顏如玉向同學說明雅歆的狀況，並要大家今後在生活和課業上多幫雅歆忙，部份同學私下竊竊私語。

   當晚，當地的地痞流氓馬大發帶了手下來到卡啦ok店收取保護費，見玉玲頗具姿色，起了色心，恣意的對其上下其手，玉玲勸說未果，舉起托盤打了馬大發，馬大發手下見狀馬上扯住玉玲頭髮痛扁她，卡啦ok店老闆吳泰然及時出面幫玉玲解圍。

   玉玲回家後，捂著臉傷低頭匆匆地走進院子，打算快速回房；不料被小弟志坤瞧見，志坤看見玉玲臉上的傷相當訝異，而永來則是為這個苦命的女兒，心疼不已，大弟志乾卻絲毫無半點同情，又是一陣無情揶揄，引起永來和志坤不滿，父子發生口角；這時雅歆正好回家，看見玉玲臉上的傷非常難過，表示自己可以幫忙賺錢，希望母親不要去那種地方上班，玉玲雖然工作辛苦，但她很有骨氣，她不想兒女重蹈她的覆轍，因此非常重視兒女的教育，要求她們要用功讀書，將來出人頭地；志坤拿藥給玉玲擦，看到哭成一團的母女連忙安慰。

   因為席揚要到長老教會幫忙合唱團排練，所以雅歆也一同前往，經席揚的介紹認識教會的女鋼琴老師Miss Candy（唐美雲），當Candy知道雅歆喜歡音樂時，馬上拉起雅歆的手觸摸鋼琴琴鍵並教她認識音階。

   回家後，雅歆在書桌上放一張畫著黑白琴鍵的長條紙，聚精匯神地彈奏無聲琴鍵，調皮的邱大富偷偷靠近雅歆，打算嚇她未果，伸手搶走桌上的助聽器，兩人一陣追逐拉扯，大舅志乾惡言斥責雅歆，小舅志坤見狀，護著雅歆並幫她要回助聽器。

   在淡江高中一年級資優班，老師顏如玉當眾朗讀了邱雅歆的一篇作文，使她首度成為同學們注目的焦點，然而以張雪野為首的那夥「公主幫」，臉上卻是輕蔑的表情。下課後，「公主幫」在走廊上堵住邱雅歆，你一言我一語的羞辱她，並將她肩上的書包拉扯下來丟出去，吳大志挺身維護雅歆，遭公主幫冷言諷刺；老師顏如玉剛好經過，立即喝止並將張雪野和公主幫帶到導師辦公室訓斥；雪野回到家，父親張英明從聯絡簿裡得知雪野居然帶頭霸凌同學時，非常生氣的訓斥她一頓。

   羅欣來找雅歆，兩人在校園裡的草坪上散步，羅欣見她悶悶不樂，問出是被張雪野那夥人欺負，羅欣想替雅歆出頭，但雅歆不想羅欣生事。

雅歆剛離開校門，走在淡水老街上，小太保趙慕白手下紅猴等三人騎機車經過，見雅歆長相可愛，臨時起意上前輕薄，同校男生李子軒、吳大志，騎腳踏車經過，立即上前幫雅歆解圍。雅歆來到長老教會，遇見子軒，子軒認出雅歆，雅歆這才知到子軒是Candy老師的表弟。

隔天，張英明應導師顏如玉要求到學校溝通，並為這件事向雅歆的家長道歉，這才發現原來雅歆的媽媽玉玲正是自己的老同學和舊情人，便約她喝咖啡敘舊。當張英明知道這些年來玉玲的處境後，好生不捨，生起想要再續前緣的念頭。

某晚，在舊情綿綿卡拉ＯＫ餐廳裡，酒桌上玉玲被幾名酒客灌酒。愛慕玉玲的老闆吳泰然見狀，過來幫玉玲擋酒。泰然不忍心玉玲被欺負，對她心生憐惜。

放學後，吳大志扮演護花使者陪雅歆從走廊往校門口，被張雪野和公主幫撞見，公主幫紛紛為雪野抱不平，指責大志沒眼光。剛好羅欣經過，於是和公主幫起口角，羅欣差點對她們動粗，及時被雅歆攔下。羅欣要大志保護好雅歆，大志說會盡力。

雅歆就讀國中的妹妹美音，非常羨慕家境優渥能夠擁有高級文具，以及高檔的髮箍的同學；回家後便央求母親玉玲能否多給些零用錢，給她去買髮箍。玉玲不肯並數落了幾句，美音賭氣跑開，離去前還刻意小小的推了雅歆。弟弟有吉低頭畫畫，畫紙上呈現一隻顏色暗沉的噴火龍對著兩個女人怒吼。

喜愛音樂的雅歆專注的在教會學鋼琴，Candy站在一旁指導。當席揚問到雅歆的學習狀況時，Candy欣然表示雅歆是個可造之材。晚上，玉玲在廚房忙著想叫喚雅歆幫忙，但卻不見雅歆出現，便走到雅歆的房裡，看到雅歆對著桌面上畫著的琴鍵，專心彈著無聲鋼琴。當玉玲知道教會裡的老師教雅歆鋼琴後，表示贊同，而有吉依舊塗鴉塗個不停，喜歡唱歌的美音則是專心的在看歌唱節目。

這天，母親玉玲要雅歆跟美音姐妹兩人一起去超市買東西，美音心不甘情不願的跟雅歆上街，路上巧遇同學，當同學得知美音有個聾啞毛病的姐姐後，讓美音感到顏面無光，要求雅歆不要跟自己走在一塊。

街頭賣藝結束，雅歆幫席揚收拾樂器，席揚請雅歆喝青草茶，閒聊起自己的故鄉與夢想，並鼓勵雅歆勇於追求自己的夢想。下課時間，公主幫的同學還是會故意湊到雅歆身旁去，酸雅歆一頓，雅歆偷偷的將助聽器的開關關掉，在無聲的世界中，比手畫腳的她們就像小丑一樣。

為準備聖誕晚會，教會排練室裡，雅歆和子軒兩人以鋼琴和小提琴合奏樂曲，唐美雲直誇兩人默契絕佳，已具備專業級的演奏水準，還意有所指地說，日後兩人若結為夫妻，一定是一對出色的音樂搭擋。

Candy和子軒、雅歆一起走進會場新北市文化局演藝廳，子軒參加音樂比賽北區初賽，在報到處遇見張雪野，雪野以為雅歆也來報名參賽，以輕蔑的態度對待雅歆，子軒說雅歆前來觀摩。趙慕白帶著手下也來湊熱鬧，和子軒狹路相逢，險些引爆衝突，雪野把慕白趕走，向子軒致歉。在比賽過程裡，雅歆發現雪野程度很好，擔心自己起步太晚。

比賽結果揭曉，子軒和雪野分別在小提琴和鋼琴類組獲得晉級決賽，成為學校風雲人物。唐美雲鼓勵雅歆潛心練習，將來一定會有好成績。

週末，漁人碼頭遊人如織。碼頭區一角，席揚和雅歆兩人正在拉著小提琴。這時，張雪野和公主幫一夥人經過，雪野被琴聲吸引住。公主幫看見雅歆拉小提琴，訝異之餘議論紛紛，雪野則肯定雅歆具有一定的水準，顯然已學琴一段時間。

羅欣和雅歆陪有吉前往陽明山公園參加寫生比賽，三人在涼亭裡，有吉專心作畫，羅欣一旁指導，雅歆取出手繪琴鍵，練習無聲鋼琴，引起羅欣好奇。雅歆說明目前正在學鋼琴，但無力購買鋼琴，所以使用克難方式學琴。

學校公佈鋼琴比賽的消息，放學後雅歆將比賽的事告訴席揚與Candy，他們都鼓勵雅歆參加。當玉玲知道這件事後也表示支持；張英明打電話給玉玲，得知雅歆也要參加鋼琴比賽，便主動邀請雅歆到自己家中練習，志乾剛好聽見玉玲的談話便在晚飯時，拿鋼琴比賽的事來諷刺取笑，永來與志坤表示支持並要幫雅歆請鋼琴老師，美音不悅，表示耳聾學什麼鋼琴，自己也想學唱歌，遭玉玲訓斥負氣回房。

美音生日快到了，雅歆拿出存錢的鐵盒，細數裡頭的零錢想買髮箍送她；到精品店才發現錢不夠，老闆娘得知雅歆狀況後便宜賣她。雅歆將禮物送美音，但她表現出不領情的樣子。夜裡，美音偷偷摸摸的起床，戴上髮箍在鏡子前面比畫了起來，假裝睡著的雅歆看見妹妹開心的模樣，心滿意足的睡去。

放學後，當雪野知道雅歆要跟她一同回家練琴時，非常不高興，一進家門，雪野逕自往琴房走去，雅歆走到琴房門口猶豫是否要跟進，英明便將雅歆帶到琴房裡的另外一台鋼琴前面。雪野發洩怒氣胡亂彈奏著，鋼琴家教發現雪野非常不專心並順口稱讚雅歆，雪野一聽負氣起身離去，雅歆默默的停下手來，非常尷尬。雪野琴也不練了，無聊的翻著雜誌，表哥沐白前來找她，要帶雪野去玩，雪野本來不願意，但聽到琴房裡傳出琴音便改變主意。

雅歆回家後向玉玲表示自己不想去英明家練琴，志坤在客廳外聽到他們的對話，便想幫雅歆買一台鋼琴。次日，志坤穿著長筒塑膠雨鞋、身著漁夫裝，來到樂器行，詢問老闆鋼琴的價格，永來得知志坤要幫雅歆買鋼琴後便說要幫忙出錢，志乾夫婦強力反對，抗爭未果，便將氣出在剛回家的玉玲身上。玉玲勸父親永來不要買鋼琴，永來說這件事是他自己主意的，要玉玲別理會志乾夫妻。

雅歆在學校參加選手選拔賽，評審老師們看到雅歆耳朵上的助聽器都很訝異，雅歆一開始有些緊張，但情緒平穩下來之後表現漸入佳境，獲得評審老師的讚賞認同。當阿公永來接到雅歆老師打來的電話，得知雅歆已經通過學校鋼琴比賽的選拔後，開心的催促志坤趕快問樂器行，鋼琴什麼時候可以送到。

雅歆跑進教會找席揚與Candy老師，告訴他們她通過學校選拔賽的消息後，又跑回家想跟媽媽說這件事。雅歆回家後發現家裡沒半個人，這時志坤跑過來拉著雅歆的手到已經淨空的倉庫，這才發現大家都擠在裡面看那部新鋼琴，美音默默離去，雅歆注意到美音的神色有異。雅歆回到房間時，美音已經蒙著頭睡著了，她走到書桌前發現美音的桌上放著一張歌唱比賽的報名表。隔天，美音回家後，突然發現雅歆彈奏的正是自己參加比賽的指定曲，她有些傻住的站在門口，雅歆要美音進來跟著唱，玉玲在一旁看到倆人和諧相處的模樣，感到欣慰。

通過鋼琴選拔後，導師顏如玉問她是否要繼續升學？見雅歆還沒決定，老師便拿「師大音樂系獨立招生簡章」給雅歆。雅歆回到座位翻看簡章，公主幫想來找雅歆麻煩，雅歆默默關掉助聽器，公主幫挑釁未果，悻然離去。

志坤正在院子裡頭納涼，從琴房裡頭流洩出一曲優美的琴音，便拿出一台隨身聽，放在泡茶桌上將它錄下。

街頭表演結束，雅歆拿出簡章給席揚看，席揚鼓勵雅歆積極準備報考，並開始調整她的姿勢，指導她的指法和演奏技巧，Candy老師則是在一旁看著，倆人輪流指導。志坤出海，坐在船頭，聽著隨身聽裡雅歆彈奏的鋼琴曲，引來其他魚夫的好奇。

歌唱比賽將近，美音為了沒有表演服裝而憂心，找姐姐雅歆幫忙想辦法，於是，雅歆到廚房找母親商量，可是話還沒說完，母親便強烈反對，還要雅歆勸一下妹妹打消唱歌的念頭。雅歆只好到教會找席揚商量，Candy知道後便表示自己有衣服可以借，雅歆這才放心；雅歆發現席揚對Candy有好感，想居中湊合這對佳人。玉玲約張英明吃飯，並將女兒美音想要當歌星的事告訴英明，英明表示年輕人有夢想是好事並開導玉玲。

一大清早，雅歆跟美音準備偷偷出門參加比賽，一開門，赫然發現母親就站在門口，以為她是要來阻止的；沒想到母親拿出自己以前在秀場登台時，穿的亮片秀服要給美音穿，美音傻眼。當晚，全家聚在一起看歌唱比賽，最後美音入圍，大家十分開心，志乾夫妻不是滋味。

張英明要司機將車開到卡拉ＯＫ小吃店的對街轉角，等玉玲下班，突然發現玉玲正與一男拉扯，馬上下車，上前將吳泰然推倒在地，兩人扭打成一團，玉玲不知所措，司機見狀趕緊上前將他們拉開，當得知對方也在追求玉玲時，兩人逼問玉玲，究竟喜歡誰？玉玲說兩個都不喜歡，便丟下兩人走了；吳泰然跟張英明兩人就像是被澆了一桶冷水般，錯愕的站在原地。

比賽時間將近，雅歆在教會裡練琴，席揚跟唐（Candy）老師對於雅歆的琴藝相當讚賞，要她克服面對觀眾時的緊張情緒。比賽現場，雪野在舞台上專注的彈著鋼琴，台下評審老師們對雪野的實力表示肯定。站在側台準備的雅歆非常緊張，面對觀眾時不停的發抖，鞠躬時露出自己的助聽器，台下觀眾見狀都議論紛紛，當她手摸琴鍵之後，克服了自己的緊張，表現相當出色。比賽結果張雪野第二名，而雅歆則是第一名。這時遲到的表哥沐白拿著一束鮮花主動向雪野示好。雪野當他是空氣般不予理會快步離去。正當沐白不解時，注意到雅歆捧在手上的獎杯，便很快了解狀況。

雪野悄悄地來到雅歆家，靠在三合院的圍牆外頭，閉眼聆聽由屋裡傳來的琴聲。玉玲回家看見雪野便邀她進屋內坐坐，雪野推辭後離開。玉玲告訴雅歆雪野來過，雅歆起身跑到門外，已經看不見雪野的身影了。張英明捧著鋼琴比賽第二名的獎杯，生氣的往琴房走去，想質問雪野白天頒獎結束後，為什麼把獎杯丟在座位上就負氣離開，當他看到雪野居然主動練起鋼琴後，便深感欣慰的離去。從此，雪野對雅歆的態度明顯轉變，她主動跟雅歆說話並邀她一起練習鋼琴。

雅歆的弟弟有吉利用下課時間畫圖，同學李忠平跑過來逗弄有吉，見他沒反應後變本加厲的取笑並搶走他的畫。有吉想把畫拿回來，一陣拉扯李忠平沒站穩跌倒，頭去撞到桌角。隔日王老師邀請雙方家長到校處理，玉玲向對方道歉，而對方自知理虧後表示不追究；事後王老師稱讚有吉有美術天分，想將他的作品送到國外參加比賽，但她擔心有吉有自閉症的傾向，要玉玲帶他去看醫生。為了這件事，玉玲不得已找張英明幫忙，繼上次拒絕事件後，這是倆人的頭一次的見面，當話說開後，解除了所有尷尬，玉玲這才對他說出兒子的狀況。隔日，張英明幫她介紹了知名的心理醫師幫有吉診斷，心理醫生帶著有吉從諮商室走了出來。表示要跟玉玲單獨聊聊，這才知道有吉曾經歷母親被父親家暴的心靈創傷。玉玲坐在一旁看著有吉不禁悲從中來。

羅欣和有吉在淡水河邊步道上寫生，引來路人好奇圍觀。雅歆帶著點心前來，三人吃著點心，愉快地聊著。羅欣說她最近要參加全國高中美術比賽，但仍會抽空教有吉繪畫，還建議有吉將來可以報考美術班。

席揚在漁人碼頭表演，雅歆則在一旁幫忙，雪野的表哥趙慕白跟幾個小混混在路上閒晃，一看到席揚與雅歆便找他們麻煩，不但打傷了席揚，還硬是將小提琴搶了過去打斷琴柄。

玉玲跟雅歆探視席揚病情，席揚知道雅歆正為小提琴壞掉而發愁，便要她不用擔心，他會在她聯考前修好。

慕白跑到雪野家，跟正在練琴的雪野炫耀他修理了雅歆與席揚的事，英明得知後便指責雪野，雪野表示她並不知情，願意跟雅歆道歉。隔天，英明帶著雪野到醫院探望席揚，表達歉意，雪野看見放在一旁壞掉的小提琴。

吳大志見雅歆悶悶不樂，問出雅歆被雪野表哥慕白帶人鬧場砸琴，他氣不過找雪野理論，雪野撇清自己並非教唆者。大志將此事告知學長李子軒和羅欣，兩人決定聯手教訓趙慕白。

李子軒帶著秦日新和羅欣、羅樂兄妹，在淡水河邊步道堵住趙慕白和他手下，將他們教訓一頓。趙慕白去找姨丈張英明，幫他討回公道，沒想到雪野不但不同情他，英明也嚴詞指責他，要他去工作別再游手好閒惹事生非。

大學聯考當日，師大音樂系術科考場，英明跟玉玲兩家人出席現場陪考，雪野先上台，表現相當出色，下台後向一旁等待的雅歆加油打氣。雅歆上台先是彈奏鋼琴，帶著助聽器的她給評審們留下相當深刻的印象，隨後雅歆從琴盒裡頭取出貼著膠布的小提琴，評審建議雅歆換一把琴，雅歆面有難色的婉拒，演奏結束，評審表示這樣會影響成績，再次要求雅歆換一把琴。此時雪野高舉自己的小提琴表示願意借給雅歆。雅歆換琴之後，流暢優美的琴音感動了現場所有人。回家後，雪野向父親英明要求他買一把小提琴送給雅歆，英明欣然答應，覺得女兒變得懂事了。

雅歆和雪野果然不負眾望的雙雙上榜。看完榜後雅歆回到家中，小舅志坤手裡拿寫著英文的包裹給雅歆，雅歆跟家人說小弟阿吉的畫得到國外大獎，眾人開心的圍在雅歆身邊看有吉的那張畫，圖上畫的正是雅歆在琴房裡彈著鋼琴的側影，鋼琴上還放著助聽器。

席揚、Candy和雅歆，一起準備蛋糕和雞尾酒為即將遠行的子軒送別。Candy彈鋼琴，席揚拉小提琴，子軒牽起雅歆跳著雙人舞，兩人離情依依。這時，席揚宣布了他和Candy的喜訊。

羅欣考取師大美術系，家人為她準備禮物慶祝。雅歆帶著一卷自己灌錄的鋼琴和小提琴CD，和有吉前來羅家道賀。羅樂想對雅歆表白愛慕之意，但是難以啟齒，羅欣鼓勵他找機會向雅歆表白。

羅樂手裡拿著兩張鋼琴演奏會門票，捧著一束鮮花，去漁人碼頭找雅歆，卻看見雅歆和李子軒攜手漫步，羅樂失望地離開。子軒向雅歆表明，必須等自己學成歸來，才能帶她回去見家人，雅歆表示理解。

淡江高中草坪上，雅歆坐著仰看天空，目送一架客機掠空遠去，飛向海面。

張雪野望著雅歆，跟著仰望那架客機，已經猜到雅歆的心事。雪野羨慕雅歆有子軒如此有才華的男友，但遠距離的感情往往充滿變數，雅歆則表示感情的事只能隨緣。

邱雅歆和雪野、羅欣、吳大志一起上大學，大志對雅歆情有獨鍾，但雅歆已心有所屬。在雅歆表明態度後，雖然雅歆鼓勵大志追求雪野，但大志灰心之餘決定暫時不談感情。大志專心於影劇系學業，和班上同學寧可文一起拍學生電影作品《記得那年初相遇》，雅歆初試啼聲成為片中的女主角，男主角則是影劇界新人林曉陽，曉陽對雅歆按按生出情愫。

美音成為唱片公司簽約歌手，出了首張唱片專輯，常上電視台打歌。有吉考取高中美術班，羅欣經常帶著有吉去看畫展、寫生，兩人情同親姐弟，逐漸發展出情愫，但羅欣要有吉先完成大學學業，不想太早掀開鍋蓋，引來必不要的干擾，有吉知道羅欣的苦心和對自己的期望。

祁玲來自中國上海，和羅欣同班，兩人感情甚篤，花季同遊陽明山時，邂逅了正在為客人畫人像的街頭畫家林曉陽，相談之下知道是畢業於師大美術系的學長。祈玲對曉陽印象很好，想約他一起看電影，但曉陽心繫邱雅歆，於是婉言拒絕。曉陽感染風寒轉為急性肺炎，住院治療期間，祁玲悉心看護，令曉陽相當感動，和祁玲開始交往。

   某夜，美音搭計程車回來，渾身酒氣，被玉玲斥責。雅歆提醒妹妹演藝圈環境複雜，要她潔身自愛。美音卻嫌姐姐囉嗦。當晚，美音孕吐，被雅歆發現，雅歆追問美音怎麼會懷孕，是懷了誰的孩子，美音又急又慌，心急之下只好把原因告訴雅歆。美音在當了歌手之後，因為工作關係所以日夜顛倒，也常駐外地，因此和一名男歌手同居，並且懷了孩子，雅歆追問男方是否願意負責，但對方礙於公眾人物的身分因此不願意對美音負責，要求美音把小孩子拿掉。美音不肯，卻但也不知道該如何是好，因此只好回到家中。雅歆驚覺事態嚴重，決定找媽媽商量。在商量過程中，玉玲氣急敗壞，一方面氣自己沒有好好照顧美音，讓美音踏上歌星一途，也重蹈了自己不幸福的覆轍，一方面也氣美音不會替自己著想，讓自己落到現在的下場。

玉玲為了美音的事不知該如何是好，只好去找英明商量，英明表示會讓這件事情有個圓滿結局，請玉玲不用擔心，並立刻吩咐手下派人去尋找男歌手的下落。隔日，玉玲帶著美音到和英明約定好會面的場所，此時男歌手羅時傑已被架到該地。英明逼問是否願意為美音的事情負責，若不願意則要把他丟入淡水河餵魚，時傑嚇得臉色發白，只好連忙答應，英明隨即安排兩人婚事。

大學畢業後，雅歆走上音樂教室講台，這時她已是母校淡江高中音樂教師。學生們專注地跟著琴聲唱歌。走廊上，李子軒穿著西裝，手裡捧著一束鮮花，等下課鐘響，雅歆走出教室，子軒迎上前去。子軒抱起雅歆旋轉，圍觀的學生們爆出如雷的歡呼聲，雅歆的同事們都認為兩人佳期將近。
   吳大志成為電影新銳導演，和寧可文搭檔，找雅歆寫電影劇本，並擔綱演出女主角，男主角仍是林曉陽，羅欣則出任美術指導。雅歆撰寫的電影劇本《無聲的樂章》，描寫自身成長經驗，故事溫馨生動。拍攝期間，祁玲對曉陽採取緊迫釘人，曉陽雖然想向雅歆表白心意，但苦無機會，大志卻已看出曉陽心事，知道他也愛慕雅歆。電影推出後票房長紅。記者會場上的邱雅歆和林曉陽，成為媒體追逐的焦點人物。

李子軒帶著雅歆回去見父母，李母張薔薇認為以兒子的條件，可以找到門當戶對的對象，她不想將來得學手語和媳婦溝通，所以要安排兒子去相親，李父明輝也要子軒重新考慮。子軒安慰雅歆，請她給時間去說服兩老。子軒求助表姐唐美雲，美雲出面遊說李家兩佬，但仍不能改變兩佬心意。

李子軒沒想到母親安排的相親對象，竟然是張雪野。子軒為緩和兩老逼婚壓力，約雪野在漁人碼頭談話，不巧卻被在那裡賣藝的羅欣看見。雪野向子軒暗示在高中時代即愛慕子軒，在獲得雪野諒解下，雪野答應幫忙子軒暫時喬裝成情侶檔，應付李家兩佬。張英明從雪野對待子軒時柔情的態度，知道女兒喜歡這個具有音樂才華、志同道合的男孩，於是積極促成兩人親事。李家兩佬軟硬兼施，要兒子子軒娶雪野，雙方家長隨即訂下婚約。

羅欣將此事告訴雅歆，羅欣憂心子軒已移情別戀，雅歆表示願意等子軒主動跟他解釋。幾天後，羅欣從雪野口中獲悉子軒即將和雪野訂婚，除了當面質疑雪野，明知子軒愛的是雅歆，卻半路殺出橫刀奪愛。雪野則一臉無辜地表明自己早就愛慕子軒，既然雙方家長做主，自己當然不會放棄這段因緣。

羅欣將子軒和雪野訂婚之事告知雅歆，雅歆雖感震驚，但自知聾啞的身體不被子軒父母，決定祝福子軒和雪野。

又一個新的學期開始，邱雅歆一如往常的走到音樂教室，準備面對一群新進的、對音樂充滿熱忱的學生。在同學們一一自我介紹並進行才藝表演的同時，雅歆發現一名男學生戴著助聽器，手裡握著一把破舊的小提琴。這個男孩很有勇氣的用吃力的聲調自我介紹，接著便拉起他手中的小提琴。但小提琴破舊，導致聲音刺耳，班上同學無不發出厭惡的噓聲。雅歆詢問之下，才知道名叫李挺立的男孩對音樂十分有熱忱，尤其是小提琴，但因為家境的問題加上沒有良好的學習環境，所以沒有辦法好好學琴。雅歆一聽之下回想到自己當初的情況，決定要好好幫助這個男孩，讓他可以發揮所長並實現自己的夢想。雅歆帶著挺立到漁人碼頭見席揚，跟席揚說了挺立的情形。席揚告訴挺立當初雅歆也是這樣磨練，才有今天的成績，鼓勵挺立只要可以好好學習，一定可以闖出自己的一片天空。雅歆、挺立和席揚相視而笑。

面對雙方家長主導下的婚事，子軒下定決心追求自己的婚姻自由，他想說服雅歆，兩人一起離開淡水，到一處陌生的地方，和雅歆一起過平靜的婚姻生活。

在天氣晴朗的下午，雅歆在淡水老街散步，聽到河岸邊傳來悅耳的小提琴協奏曲，她好奇前往，發現是席揚和挺立手裡各拉著一把小提琴，一起有默契的合奏出悅耳動聽的旋律，路過的群眾無不圍觀駐足，被美妙的聲音所吸引。而每首曲子結束後，觀眾們也爆出如雷的掌聲。雅歆看到這般情景，在台上的席揚和挺立也同時看到人群中的雅歆，互相點頭，會心一笑。子軒出現，向雅歆說明和雪野的婚事，其實是雙方家長的主意，他身不由己，但不想屈服，希望雅歆和他一起離開淡水。雅歆表示理解，可是這時她不能拋下家人，她必須照顧弟弟妹妹，為母親分憂解勞，請子軒體諒。子軒無奈，和雅歆訂下三年之約，表示他將浪跡天涯，創造一些樂曲，三年後他會回到淡水，實踐他對雅歆的誓言。

子軒在訂婚前夕，留下書信離開淡水，說明寧可浪跡天涯，也不接受如此的安排。雙方家長均感錯愕，雪野更是傷心透了，她覺得自己這輩子，無論是音樂或感情，樣樣都輸給雅歆。雪野決心自我放逐，離開淡水這處傷心地，報考正在巡回台灣演出並招考團員的「波爾瑪莉亞樂團」，發展自己的音樂抱負，讓音樂來止痛療傷。

吳大志有意拍攝第二部青春偶像電影，和老搭檔寧可文共同策劃，仍找邱雅歆和林曉陽合作，羅欣擔任美術指導。雅歆寫了《紅塵有夢》劇本，大志看到劇本就知道寫的是雅歆、子軒、自己和雪野四人之間大學時代及畢業後的故事，同時找祁玲演出雪野的角色，羅樂則演出大志的角色。從羅欣口中，大志弄清楚子軒為逃婚而離開淡水，心想自己和雅歆之間還是有可能的，只是必須有耐心去打開雅歆的心窗。

在電影拍攝過程裡，大志和曉陽為雅歆暗中較勁，擔任配角的祁玲感受到壓力，將雅歆當成情敵和職場上的假想敵。祁玲搶戲，和雅歆尬演技，性情溫柔的雅歆很有風度，對祁玲詮釋劇中雪野的角色表示肯定。電影的結局是飾演子軒角色的曉陽，和飾演雪野的祁玲修成證果，雅歆則隻身單飛，並未接受飾演大志的羅樂。對於故事結局，大志隱約感覺到似乎是雅歆的預言，但是他尊重雅歆的想法和劇情安排。

這部青春偶像電影推出後，再度獲得觀眾好評。祁玲初嘗成名的滋味，決心留在台灣發展事業，並且牢牢抓住林曉陽。但是曉陽不想再和雅歆擦身而過，他要和大志公平爭取雅歆。

子軒和雪野也各自去觀賞了這部電影，兩人分別和大志、雅歆通信。子軒對雅歆表示他不喜歡故事的結局，要雅歆相信他對雅歆的愛情至死不渝。雪野則從美國加州寫信給大志，在給大志的信裡希望大志善待雅歆，給她幸福。

林曉陽為了雅歆，終於和祁玲攤牌，祁玲怪罪雅歆，但雅歆向祁玲表明和曉陽只是事業夥伴，並無意接受曉陽。曉陽從羅欣口中知道雅歆並未忘情於子軒，內心鬱悶，於是在夜店裡藉酒澆愁，富家千金任真將爛醉的曉陽攙扶回家裡，曉陽在意識模糊下，把任真當成雅歆，兩人有了肌膚之親。隔天上午曉陽酒醒後，對任真深感抱歉，表示自己願意負責。任真知道曉陽心裡有邱雅歆這位夢幻情人，對曉陽表示諒解和同情。

曉陽將自己和任真的一夜情原委，告知好友羅欣，羅欣要曉陽自己想清楚，在祁玲和任真之間，必須做出選擇。曉陽接受羅欣的忠告，認真思考過後，決定向祁玲說明並請求諒解，因為他必須對任真負起責任。祁玲深受打擊，一時情緒難以平復，向大志訴說心中苦楚。大志則以自己和子軒對雅歆的三角習題，來安慰祁玲，兩人同是感情的天涯淪落人，祁玲對於大志的理解感到窩心，開始認真思考把大志當成結婚對象。

兩年後，子軒回到台北，舉辦音樂作品發表會，由國家交響樂團演奏他所寫的交響樂曲創作曲目，引起國際樂壇的高度注意，子軒成為國際級的音樂創作家。雪野跟著「波爾瑪莉亞樂團」來台灣演出，她抽空去找雅歆，雅歆從交談中知道雪野已走出子軒給她的陰影。

有吉大學美術系畢業典禮，羅欣和雅歆及家人一起出席。有吉領取畢業證書後，當著師長同學和家人面前，走向羅欣，兩人深情擁吻，戀情震驚每個人，但雅歆早就看出弟弟和羅欣之間，密秘地維持著戀情。回家後，玉玲向雅歆詢問有吉和羅欣的事，雅歆說服母親玉玲，尊重弟弟有吉的選擇。玉玲在張英明陪同下，前往羅家提親，羅家父母問清楚女兒羅欣後，同意這門親事。

   某日，雅歆正在教會排練室裡，為合唱團伴奏，唐美雲和席揚則指導教會裡的一支小型樂團排練演奏的樂曲。這時，李子軒出現，手裡拉著小提琴，跟著雅歆的鋼琴一起合奏，兩人默契還在。席揚和美雲看到這一幕，兩人對望，會心微笑，他們相信子軒和雅欣這對天作之合的音樂璧人，磨難已經過去，兩人即將修成證果。

   大志和祁玲都收到子軒和雅歆的喜帖，大志尊重雅歆的選擇，並通知在美國的張雪野。子軒和雅歆步入禮堂當天，教堂裡張英明挽著邱玉玲、大志挽著祁玲、林曉陽挽著任真、羅欣挽著有吉、邱美音挽著羅時傑，全程參與這場金童玉女的婚禮。張雪野中途趕來，很有風度地向這對新人致意，看見父親英明和邱母玉玲互動親密，雪野為父親感到高興。

   漁人碼頭邊，羅樂和父親羅文明父子檔在遊客熱情圍觀下，正賣力演出武術。張雪野站在不遠處，觀賞著這一幕，覺得知足的羅樂，才是最完美的男人，而這樣的男人，將來一定可以給自己幸福。(完)
