So many people asked how was the economy doing, especially those in their mid-age. My answer to such questions is usually simple: "In an economy where the only certainty is uncertainty!" Why do we want to know whether the economy is good or bad? In the past few years, I feel the economy is working to my favor while many engineers in Silicon Valley were forced to move out of it, with less jobs available and the trend of outsourcing, offshoring. What can an individual do to change the economy? Very little. Maybe you can adjust your life style based on the economy, but why? You want to know answer, or you want to spend that energy to face all kinds of different situations or possibilities? Through my life, there is only one thing I always believe. "Knowledge is the one sure source of lasting competitive advantage". Like once someone once said to me: "Knowing yourself, and benifit others..." --------------- Gemini in Dallas, Jan. 17, 2006 |
