先想清楚此部落格之瀏覽者為誰、要傳達哪些訊息、希望達成什麼目的，再決定欲塑造出何種形象。之後所有努力都以「給瀏覽者完整正確的形象」為前提。避免製造出干擾或削減形象的雜訊。

        不論個人形象注重哪一方面的特質，除了所謂的網路倫理之外，部落格的世界中有一些不成文的共識，能使其加分。

1.第一印象非常重要：
不符合瀏覽者預期部落格名稱、頭像與暱稱，會使對方不想繼續閱讀。例如：不雅的字詞、符號或諧音，不應使用於官方性質的部落格。

2.選取適當的版型：
考慮配色、顯示速度、欄位、功能。首次瀏覽之訪客，通常沒有耐心等待特效。

3.畫面呈現：
破壞版型之內容應加以修改，像是太大的圖片。

4.不要模糊作品焦點：
若無特別用意，不要使用容易引爭議的素材。如以下題材：極端的政治立場或過度迷信之宗教。

5.表達力求精準：
明確規定的條文中，用引號住名字詞，引用時應做到完全符合。例如：作業或比賽規定的題目。

6.尊重智慧財產權：
複製或藉由其他網站所產生之作品，應標示網址來源。

7.維持部落格之品質：
盡快回覆網友的流言或回應，刪除不當言論。經常檢查推薦連結，保持自我提供的資料正確。

8.團隊合作：
拜訪性質相近之部落格，推薦、加入好友、訂閱文章。適當地回應文章，或在訪客不邀請對方回訪。藉由團體共同之特質，加強個人形象。
