★★莫迪里亞尼法定妻子珍妮·赫布特尼(Jeanne Hebuterne)的墓誌銘:『極致犧牲裡最忠實的陪伴。』

★義大利畫家莫迪里亞尼( Amedeo Modigliani) 短暫如火焰的36年生命，在狂烈的愛與怒、貧困與才華中擺盪，寫下藝術史與個人生命不可磨滅的一頁。其藝術成就為世人所歌頌，然而，在屢屢被談論的生命與藝術風格中 ,最後陪伴他的謬司珍妮·赫布特尼(1898-1920)卻少被談及。

珍妮·赫布特尼是法國畫家，也是莫迪里亞尼法定的妻子，出生於巴黎天主教的家庭。他的哥哥 Andre Hebuterne希望成為畫家，也將妹妹介紹給蒙帕那斯的藝術家們。她遇到好幾位半飢餓狀態的窮藝術家，後來還成為藤田嗣治(Tsuguharu Foujita)的模特兒；然而，她一心追求藝術的志業，且個人具備繪畫的天分，她遂前往 Academie Colarossi學習。

1917年珍妮透過雕塑家 Chana Orloff(1888-1968)的介紹認識了莫迪里亞尼；她很快就與這位具有領袖氣質的畫家陷入情網，不顧天主教家庭的反對與莫迪里亞尼同居。

1920年一月24日莫迪里亞尼病逝，隔天她的父母帶她返回娘家，她當時身懷六甲，在極度沮喪中由自家五樓公寓跳樓自殺；家人原將她葬於Cimetiere de Bagneux，十年後才讓她的遺物葬在莫迪里亞尼的墓旁。她的墓誌銘寫著：「極致犧牲裡最忠實的陪伴。」(Devoted companion to the extreme sacrifice)
