Powering the Enterprise Cloud 2009 (2009 IDC 啟動企業雲端環境活動)

由IDC主辦，IMA協辦的「2009年IDC啟動企業雲端環境活動」今天上午在君悅飯店3F舉行。曹永暉，IDC台灣企業應用研究部研究經理以「IDC的發現：建立基礎架構即服務：從發展中的技術改變現實」為題開啟研討會的序幕。

曹永暉分享現任的Google領導人 Eric Schmidt曾在1993年提出的下列看法，來介紹IDC將持續關注的虛擬化、Web2.0、SaaS、Green IT及Cloud Computing等重要議題之一：雲端運算(Cloud Computing)。

" When the network become as fast as the processor, the computer hollows out and spreads across the network" ~Eric Schmidt, 1993 ；"～from buying IT components to buying IT services."

曹永暉也透過投影片，分享IDC調查：企業為什麼要採用雲端服務? 及為什麼不採用雲端服務?的不同看法：

Why IT Cloud Services?
1. Easy/Fast to deploy
2. Pay only for what you use
3. Offers the latest functionality
4. Encourages more standard IT
5. Less in-house IT staff and Costs
6. Low monthly payments
7. Sharing Systems/information simpler
Why not IT Cloud Services?
1. Security
2. Performance
3. Availability
4. Regulatory requirements
5. Hard to integrate with in-house IT
6. Not enough ability to customize
7. Bringing service back in-house may be difficult
