師尊開示：佛陀教我們的，釋迦牟尼佛也是這樣教我們。你真正一個覺悟者，像我的媽媽，她到了那裡，她已經知道一些因果了，她了解了，她已經領悟了，已經覺悟了，所以她才能夠講這四個字。所以我知道她已經看了所有因果的東西，她了解。

我們佛教徒的心裡是開悟者的心，是很深、很廣，是無盡的，絕對不是狹小的、個人的、只為自己的，我們今天學佛，最重要的在這裡，要廣大無邊，要慈悲喜捨，要能夠斷除煩惱，要生死能了，這樣子你才能夠有成就的，假如還生活在你個人狹小的心裡面，你還是一個世俗凡夫。

Compassion in the Dark

On the cold, pitch-black evening of November 20, 2024, Seattle was gripped by the aftermath of an intense storm—a bomb cyclone—that left the city in darkness and 500,000 homes without power. The power outage, coupled with the biting chill, created an atmosphere of discomfort and uncertainty. Yet, amidst this challenging scene, Grandmaster Lu, dressed warmly in yellow robes and a matching knitted hat, stood as a beacon of resilience and compassion.

Unfazed by the cold and the darkness, Grandmaster Lu continued his practice with unwavering dedication. His disciples, gathered despite the harsh conditions, waited patiently to receive his blessings. For them, this was more than an ordinary moment—it was a profound expression of the master’s devotion to their spiritual growth and well-being.

With his palm extended in a gesture of care, Grandmaster Lu placed his hand gently on the heads of his disciples, bestowing blessings for good health, wisdom, and the attainment of spiritual achievement, as he normally does every day. The golden tones of his attire seemed to radiate warmth and light, creating a stark contrast to the surrounding darkness.

This act of blessing was not just a ritual; it was a testament to his teachings. By continuing his compassionate service in the face of adversity, Grandmaster Lu embodied the principles of perseverance, selflessness, and care. For the disciples, the experience was transformative—proof that even in the darkest of times, the light of spiritual connection and dedication can shine through.
