And I Love You So

這首歌的作曲者是美國民歌手Don McLean
在1970寫成，同年灌錄，收在他的第一張專輯
這首歌被許多歌星喜愛、
其中1973年Perry Como的版本成績最好，
在流行歌曲排行榜上達到29名，
是Perry Como成功的歌唱演藝生涯中，
最後一首進入流行歌排行榜前四十名的歌曲，
在輕音樂的排行榜中則曾奪冠。

Perry Como（1912～2001）是美國二十世紀中葉
在歌壇、電臺和電視上紅透半天邊的人物，
他從小喜愛唱歌，卻以為理髮是他將來的職業，
二十歲時，他的音樂天份被一個巡游樂團發現，
從此步上音樂生涯的不歸路。
二十三歲時，他加入了一個與電臺有約的樂團，
Perry Como的歌聲開始隨著電臺的音波進入大眾的家庭裡，
但是真正出人頭地要等到31歲加入哥倫比亞廣播公司（CBS），
他的歌聲甜美，像Bing Crosby，
此後廣播和唱片都很受歡迎。

1944年Perry Como主唱的樂團所制作的節目
被國家廣播公司（NBC）買去，
這個節目普受美國聽眾的喜愛，
讓Perry Como的名聲更上層樓。

1948年，在電視時代開始萌芽的時候，
NBC把一個電臺的歌唱節目錄制成電視節目播放，
這是Perry Como登上電視螢光幕的開始，
這個實驗非常成功，欲罷不能，
從此變成一個正規的電視節目。
1949年Perry Como的星期天晚上的電視節目，
甚至與當時的蘇利文節目打對臺。
得到許多艾美獎和格蘭美獎。

Perry Como十七歲時與Roselle Belline在一個野餐會上相識，
兩人在1933年結婚，育有二兒一女，
Perry Como是虔誠的天主教徒，
1952年夫婦兩人同被受封為騎士，
1958年他們在五十周年銀婚紀念時，
全家到意大利旅游，並和教宗見面。

Perry Como為人謙和，正直不虛偽，
一生受獎無數，1987年得到華府甘乃迪中心的表揚，
2001年他在睡夢中安然過世。
2002年受頒格蘭美終身成就獎，對他一生的貢獻表示敬意。
