Dreams are a kind of sacred and serious commitment in life.

If you give up the pursuit of your own dreams only because of one setback, probably this is not your dream; maybe it is only a kind of beautiful imagination.

Imagination, just like the opium which can anaesthetize you when you feel disappointed in life, is always happier,

However, the completion of the dream needs setbacks due to the reason that setbacks should be treated as a necessity of testing the degree of your conscientious attitude toward the dream.

Therefore, whether you can continue your own dreams all depends on your attitude toward life.



I try to interprete my understanding toward your reply previously. Actually, I got inspired from your feedback and would like to say ' thank you". Meanwhile, may I quote your reply as a reminder. Right now, I am writing my thesis, the problem that I am facing is my own laziness. I couldn't deny the truth that imagination is always beautiful, but the dream needs more efforts and the determination of carrying out the commitment. Thanks a lot.

即將畢業的過路客

您好，我是位私立大學英文系應屆畢業生，看了您文章區的〝人生的轉向〞，有了些想法！也提起了些信心面對未知的未來！即使，我對未來還是很茫然！

自從上了大學，我喜歡這樣的讀書感覺，讀自己有興趣的東西，因此我一直很希望有機會也能夠出國讀書，畢竟，是讀外國語言的，當然會很希望有機會可以出去看看世界，除了增加自己的專業知識外，也可以打開自己的視野。但是，家庭經濟不允許我來圓這個夢想，所以，我選擇了繼續在台灣考研究所繼續讀書，我希望在未來能往英語教學或學術上去發展！結果，我也就報考了這次的研究所考試，但是，我成了個備取生！

在等待的時間很煎熬，我的教授都希望我繼續等待，不一定有一絲希望；且建議我如果沒有順利被取成功的話，也不要輕易放棄，明年再考，一定可以的！

可是，在這同時，我會不斷地想著：我真的可以等到備取嗎？！如果，我不幸沒有備取成功，我要繼續堅持我的夢想嗎？！還是，我就一股腦地究投入了工作，就這樣沒有夢想的過一生？！或著是，先工作一段時間存夠了錢在準備托福申請國外的研究所？！

好多好多想法，好多好多假設，好多好多如果，說實在地，真的是一頭亂七八糟地，真的是完全沒有頭緒！

我真的能繼續我的夢想嗎？！我不知道！
