王子力推他的接下來兩張專輯［Come］和［The Gold Experience］同時發行。

王子以假音與真音輪流交換演唱，充滿戲劇性．
最後以一段簡短卻動聽的吉他獨奏結束整首歌，將歌曲推向高潮。
美國演員／模特兒／歌手 Carmen Electra說王子告訴她這首歌是關於她的：
我和一個男人約會過——我沒和這個人上過床——王子發現了。
他說：“我寫了這首歌是關於妳的”，然後他播放了《I Hate U》。
