If you are in New Zealand, tonight (28th of August) is your lucky night! If you are a person like me not very into astronomy except star sign, then you may want to know what “Lunar Eclipse” is. It will occur when the earth passes between Sun and the moon, blocking the light from the Sun reaching to the moon’s surface. The moon will pass through the shadow of the earth. What made it so special is the colour of the moon, during the time in the shadow. It will be a rich coppery red colour. Tonight, the temperature in Auckland is around 4 degrees. It is bitterly cold and has really strong wind, but I still went out to see the lunar eclipse with binoculars and Scott took our trusting digital camera and took some photos. The lunar eclipse was amazing~!!! It's defaintly worth the cold. The following photos are Scott's 傑作... |
