Sentence correction

For example: Adverbs of degree---

just as - - -as(the same as- - -as)=(just meaning exactly 

*It has just as many(agj.) bathrooms(n.) as my previous house.

almost as - - -as(差不多,差一點---就)=not quite(adv.相當,全然地) as---as

*The yard is almost as big as the yard of my other house.  

nearly as---as(幾乎,近於,將近)  nearly/almost

 really as ---as(確實,的確,加以強調)

**as---as--(1)as+adjective+as  Tina(21years old)is as old as Sam(21).

                (2)as+adverb+as  Mike came as quickly as he could.

**Negtive form:not as ---as. Quite and nearly are often used with the negative.

                (1)not quite as ---as= a small difference.

                (2)not nearly as---as= a big difference.

Ted is20. Tina is 21. Ted is not as old as Tina.

                              Ted is not quite as old as Tina.

Amy is 5. She is not nearly as old as Tina.

Ted is nearly /almost as old as Tina.

A riddle:

          1.Its no small as baseball.

             It's not as small as a baseball.

          2.It be as round moon.

             It is as round as the moon.

          3.It orange as carrot.

             It is as orange as a carrot.

          4.It as hardly melons, but it ain't as sweet as fruit.

             It is as hard as a melon, but it isn't as sweet as fruit.

          5.What it is.

             What is it? It is a pumpkim.
