| 少數的歌一聼就喜歡上，這是其中一首，當時在石牌夜市吃東西，
經過一個賣錄音帶的地攤，無意中挑選了一個匣式錄音帶（年輕人 可能沒看過），因為當時我車子上裝的是匣式錄音播放機，恰巧試 聽到這首歌（雖然這首早在196幾年就出了，但我沒聽過），一聽前 奏就喜歡上了。 回家看了歌詞，可以說完全不懂其涵義，只是曲調一直都喜歡，今天 無意中網路上看到這首伴奏，拜網路之賜，也找到歌詞翻譯，雖然仍 似懂非懂，趕緊練一練，就錄下吧，也算從美回來後跟大家打個招呼吧！ 原唱：Procol Harum 亂唱：豹爺 A whiter shade of pale Procol Harum 蒼白陰影 We skipped the light Fandango 我們跳著輕快的方丹哥舞 Turned cartwheels across the floor 側手翻越過地板 I was feeling kind of seasick 我有點暈船 But the crowd called out for more 但群眾吆喝著再來一些 The room was humming harder 屋內越來越吵雜 As the ceiling flew away 天花板彷彿飛離 When we called out for another drink 當我們叫另一盅酒時 The waiter brought a tray 服務生帶了一個托盤 *And so it was that later 就在這不久之後 As the miller told his tale 當磨坊主人說起他的故事 That her face, at first just ghostly 她的臉，起初如鬼魅 Turned a whiter shade of pale 然後轉為更淺的蒼白陰影 She said there is no reason 她說不為什麼 And the truth is plain to see 事實顯而易見 But I wandered through my playing cards 但我漫不經心在紙牌間 And would not let her be 不允許她成為 One of sixteen vestal virgins 十六位純潔的處女之一 Who were leaving for the coast 即將離開前往海濱（指vestal virgins） And although my eyes were open 雖然我睜開了雙眼 They might just as well've been closed(*) 他們卻彷彿是閉著的 ＊＊＊＊＊＊＊＊＊＊＊＊＊＊＊＊＊＊＊＊＊＊＊＊＊＊＊＊＊＊＊＊ 因為唱片公司考慮歌曲長度的關係，最後兩段並未出現在錄音室的版本中， 只出現在該團的演唱會版本中。 翻譯者enthusiast的一些注釋： 1：Fandango: 一種西班牙舞 2：the miller: 有些歌詞是Miller，所以有人認為那是Arthur Miller ( Death of a Salesman)，但我看了網站上作詞者的原稿，是小寫的， 所以miller成了磨坊主，此出於Chaucer 的『坎特伯里故事集』裡一篇 故事：磨坊主人的故事，內容大概是一位年輕美麗的磨坊主人的妻子和 他們的大學生房客有染的故事，所以the narrator的遊伴「她」才會臉 色蒼白，因為他們在談不倫的戀愛，所以個人比較贊成後面的說法。 3：“if music…..,….is its queen”出自莎士比亞 4：最後兩段淺白的讀法是他們自殺了，但我覺得這只是象徵一段畸戀的結束。 5：另外有人把整首歌解讀成宗教意思，我認為此解釋太嚴肅。 ＊＊＊＊＊＊＊＊＊＊＊＊＊＊＊＊＊＊＊＊＊＊＊＊＊＊＊＊＊＊＊＊＊＊ She said "I'm home on shore leave" Though in truth we were at sea So I took her by the looking glass And forced her to agree Saying, "You must be the mermaid Who took Neptune for a ride" But she smiled at me so sadly That my anger straight away died If music be the food of love Then laughter is its queen And likewise if behind is in front Then dirt in truth is clean My mouth by then like cardboard Seemed to slip straight through my head So we crash-dived straightway quickly And attacked the ocean bed 她說:”我正離開海邊回家’ 雖然事實上我們還在海上 我給她一面窺鏡（能反映事情真相） 迫使她同意 並說：’妳一定是條美人魚 騎著海神的海馬 但她只是悲傷地對著我笑 我的憤怒頓時消散 如果音樂是愛情食糧 笑聲便是王后 同樣地，如果過去能重現 那土也會是乾淨的 我的嘴巴那時像片紙板 似乎直接地從我頭袋竄出 所以我們立刻快速地俯衝 直到撞擊海床 ##### 歌詞及翻譯取自網路 ##### |
