Since Yao Ming joint the club and later on Zhou Qi was picked, Houston Rockets has become the "home court" for fans in China Mainland.  Such a sentiment is similar to New York Yankees to baseball fans in Taiwan when Wang Chien-ming played there.  Well, love me, love my dog.  ( FYI, I am a long time Rockets fan, but because of that legendary African King: Haleen Olajuwan, not just because of Yao and Zhou.)    

The day before yesterday, the general manager of Rockets, Daryl Morey, quoted the slogan of HK rioters---"Fight for freedom, Stand with Hongkong" in his Facebook.  The stupid act completely infuriated the vast fans of Houston Rockets in Mainland, and many Mainland business partners with the club immediately defined their position toward the issue, discontinuing to cooperate with the club, at least for the time being.  The businesses include, not limited to, CCTV5, communication companies broadcasting Houston games online, sports goods, credit card companies, which may involve deals of billions of dollars.  A series of official condemnations ensued from China Basketball Association, general consulate in Houston, and even Peoples Daily.  Houston Rockets, you are in trouble now in China Mainland.

The majority of fans demand that Houston Rockets must fire Morey, not accepting any (insincere) apologies.  I do not know how will the club deal with such a problem, but I may think the issue is a miniature of current trade war between America and China.  Well, guess who will have the last laugh?
